I am curious about the age demographic this game was aimed at. Some parts of this seem WAY more complicated than the art and writing would lead one to believe.
I stumbled my way through it the first time when I was 7-8? Most stuff you can figure out through context or brute forcing your way through by trying everything, but having endless amounts of time to play and experiment at that age probably also helped.

@renharris6504 I was playing the original dragon quest games at that time and I can see eight year old me being frustrated with this game
