What a true blessing to see this amazing episode with so many of the beloved characters from this era of GL-truly the best era of all time! And to have this outstanding video quality is more than I could ever wish for. I want to say a most genuine and heartfelt “THANK YOU” for making this available to GL fans. BLESS YOU. If you have other episodes, we would love to see them as well.

Millette Alexander was such a great Actress! She could easily carry a scene even if she was the only Actor in it - and make it interesting. Millette Alexander looked strikingly beautiful in this very short haircut - it looks perfect with her features and flawless profile. "Dr. Sara McIntyre" was my favorite character on GUIDING LIGHT and Millette Alexander will always be my favorite Actress of all time from Daytime TV. I loved her work on THE EDGE OF NIGHT as well as GUIDING LIGHT. Springfield was never the same after "Sara", "Tim" & "Adam" moved away. I always hoped that they would return. I was happy to see "Adam" return in 1989 but very disappointed that he came back without "Sara". I wish that Millette Alexander & Kevin Bacon would have been featured at the end of GUIDING LIGHT even if just in Flashback scenes.

Every time I hear "Ritournelle", I imagine myself walking in the cool, beautiful Summer rain. The music used to creep me out when I was younger. But now, I think it's so beautiful. But I still love "My Guiding Light ", the theme from 1983. Greatest soap of all time.

Can you imagine how surreal it was for Don Stewart to come back in 1997 for it's 60th Anniversary and work with Ron Raines (Alan #3). Also I wished that Mike could have said "Hope is doing great, working hard going to AA Meetings, having a Sponsor, being a Sponsor and realizing that she didn't fail as a Woman, Wife and she and Alan Michael made peace, also say Sid Dickerson is doing very well in Washington, DC., he's become quite the Power Broker in The Black Caucus."

One noteworthy error that anyone who has worked in healthcare would pick up on: Rita's shoes. At 38:40, they look like some kind of platform heel, and you can hear the sound of the heels clicking as she walks across the floor. No way would a nurse wear shoes like that while she's on-duty. Generally, it would be rubber soled, non-skid shoes, both for safety and practicality.reasons.

    • @mariellclement8092

Michael Zaslow and Lenore Kasdorf are fantastic here in their scene together. Roger and Rita hated each other by this time, and the two of them do an amazing job at communicating that (beyond just the actual words in the script), with Kasdorf spitting out her lines with utter contempt, and Zaslow sitting there, silently seething as Rita is speaking. A very compelling scene, but at the same time, totally realistic and believable.

Mar Thivierge Yes, I concur. I've always said that GUIDING LIGHT has the best dialogue exchanges of any soap. The characters interact with such a realness. That's the test of great actors and actresses, making not look like acting. They might flub a line or two, but this is how people really hold conversations.

    • @laminage

Isn't it amazing to know that on it's Sister Show Another World, she played Lenore Curtin and at her Wedding Reception Steve Frame played by George Reinholt would go on to be Daytime's First Superstar. Also as you know Michael Zaslow wrote for Another World while Barbara Berjer played Bridget. I really hated her character's guts. She was always interfering acting like Vicky got Robbed of living in The Love Mansion.

I remember watching a Barnaby Jones episode about a Glam Rock Star who didn't write his own songs. The songwriter was played by a very young Michael Zaslow, who the rock star murdered because he threatened to tell his secret. The dead songwriter's Fiancee was played by a very young Lenore Kasdorf. Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? Lol

They should make a Guiding Light movie released by Paramount. It will set in 1976 Springfield. In the opening credits, Ron Raines (90s & 2000s Alan Spaulding) is in the voiceover reading a poem "There is a Destiny" playing the 1970-75 theme. For Josh & Reva, I elected Ashton Kutcher & Gwenyth Paltrow to play Springfield's most memorable couple. The closing takes place at the Lighthouse (their trademark) playing the 1975-81 theme.
