There’s absolutely no way the Korean remake of “A Love So Beautiful” was better 😂 the Chinese version was so good I’ve rewatched it 3 times. Couldn’t get past episode 1 on the Korean version sorry 🤷🏾♀️
Same, I first watched Meator Garden (the Chinese version) and enjoyed it and since Netflix also had Boys over Flowers I watched it out of curiosity, and the rest was history 😀
I agree. The way they made it make sense of the rampant bullying and violence and not just as a plot device, definitely (chef's kiss). The other versions just tended to gloss over it. Although, the getting back his memory bit seemed a bit rushed. Could have probably stretched it out a bit? Maybe 1 more episode? But then, it might turn a bit "soapy".
Yes I like the anime the most and then the Japanese version and the Thia wasn't to bad either Unfortunately as much as I wanted to love the k version of Mischievous Kiss, it just didn't do it right The male lead came across as too much of a jerk
I really preferred the Korean Fated To Love You because the ML’s portrayal was less callous, which made me root for him whereas I like Ethan Ruan but detested his character in the drama. On the flip side, I preferred the Chinese version of A Love So Beautiful. The casting was just too perfect and is what elevated a typical syrupy script into something which captured my heart with its coming-of-age romance.
I don't know if Ethan's character was any less callous than the Korean version. They both were kind of selfish and thoughtless at times. I think maybe it seems that way because the Taiwanese drama is longer so you see Ethan's character growth over a longer period of time where it has to happen earlier in the Korean version. But it's been a while since I've seen the Taiwanese version so I could be mistaken. I do remember liking the Taiwanese version better which is weird because it's more soapy which is something I generally don't like. Then I watched the Chinese one and finally understand how amazing it is. The first few episode wasn't easy to watch, that was my first cdrama and I'm not a fan of pigtails on shaved head.
Honestly, Scarlet Heart had some serious problems including kind of losing the plot half-way through and just being overall draggy and boring once she got all melancholy. They really could have used some type of comic relief. Also, her being a time traveler had no bearing on the plot whatsoever except for the first couple and last episode. Contrast that with a lot of time-traveling C-dramas where you actually see that element result in funny or dangerous situations throughout the drama.

Fated To Love you with the Jang-Jang couple was fabulous and I've watched more than once. Can't imagine any version surpassing Moon Lovers. Six of the actors are on my Top 20 list.

@@rashmikashyap5026 Yes, I have it downloaded and burned to disk and will be watching soon, as I have heard that more than once (that it's the best version).
I love Korean dramas but Hana Yori Dango was much better than Boys Over Flowers, Hana Kimi was better than the Korean version, and Jane the Virgin was better than Woori the Virgin. But I did like Designated Survivor: 60 Days the Korean drama more than the American original. Other adaptations I can think of are Proposal Daisaksan (Operation Proposal) which was a Japanese drama remade into Korean, and Itazura na Kiss, which was a Japanese drama remade into the Korean drama Playful Kiss. A lot of Japanese and Korean dramas come from Mangas, but now more and more Korean dramas come from manhwas/webtoons

The US version dissapoints after the first season while the kdrama shows the power of actually finishing the story you set out to tell instead of letting it bleed out. Would reccomend the korean version over the american one anyday.
@@LikeASugarPlumFairy Korea can't make a story like that, they just remake it and make the story better, it's good that the US invented a story like that
The series When We Were Not In Love also was a good one, although the Japanese adaptation (I Don’t Love You Yet) of this originally Taiwanese series was better in my opinion because the chemistry and acting of the Japanese cast was very good.
What about One Ordinary Day? That was a tremendous remake! Tho it was short (only 6 episodes, the acting, writing and cinematography were top notch. The original was a BBC show called Criminal Justice. That was made into a flashy HBO drama called The Night Of. IMO, the Kdrama tops them all! Kim Soo-Hyun and Cha Seung-Won were incredible!
The Korean drama 18 again starring Lee Do Hyun, Kim Ha Neul and Hwang In Yeop is adapted from the popular American movie 17 again starring Zac Effron and Leslie Mann. (the remake is so good, highly recommended!)
Couple Trouble, the Hong Sisters written remake of the Kurt Russel/Goldie Hawn American film Overboard. I think it is an often overlooked very good show.
I got into a huge argue with someone who thought she had the right to tell me that the Thai version of the Korean alien drama was better when I simply said I prefer the Korean version. She went crazy on Facebook and started telling me to had to leave then called me names.
The Korean remake of “A Love so Beaufiful” is popular sure, but differently did not SURPASS the original version. “A Love so Beautiful” literally blew up everywhere in China when it came out. If you didn’t know this drama, you must’ve been living under a rock
Boys Over Flowers/ Hana Yori Dango/ Meteor Garden (haven't watched other versions). But I think it's that type of show that when talking about which one did the adaptation better, it all comes down to personal preference . Each has its own approach, but the experience of watching every one of them is the same.
While I wasn't happy with the ending, I so loved Mr Queen I just liked how in the other version the voice over remained as the guy from the future and he chose to stay as the queen
I won’t say these were better, but each of these productions were good in their own right. “Mother” from the original Japanese drama of the same name. A great Korean adaption of the equally brilliant BBC drama Life On Mars.

This was suggested and I took a glance because based on the title i KNEW this was going to list ALSB, which is so inaccurate. The one thing they did properly was adjust to the Kdrama formula, but I've only watched it once~ I was interested since I watch the Cdrama at least bimonthly, and was hoping that the stars would align for this version too but...

Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area 3. Liar Game 2. The World of the Married 1. Mr. Queen Bonuss: Criminal Minds Suits Entourage Youth, Climb the Barrier
Though I love Scarlet Heart Ryeo's aesthetics, it is not better than Scarlet Heart (Bu Bu Jing Xin). Character development, motivations, storytelling, I much prefer those in the Chinese version. In the Chinese version, they don't pretend that royalties are monogamous which makes the series more believable for me. Unlike the Korean version, the main character didn't choose to have a relationship with the 8th prince just because she was attracted to him, she was with him because it was practical and her sister (the 8th prince's 2nd wife) encouraged it. The machinations in the court were smart and intriguing and the drama is not just for shock value.
Sorry but Hana Yori Dango just hits differently. BOF has to fall in line behind Meteor Garden. Money Heist? Hana Kimi? My heart is for the Japanese version and then the Taiwanese version. I tried the Korean version because of Minho but it just didn't catch my attention. This list is very objective. Or subjective in the sense of audience reach maybe but that doesn't mean they are all better than the original. Some are indeed really good adaptations tho.
I don't think woori the virgin surpasses Jane the virgin...I ve watched both and I can say that jtv has so much character development ,so many arcs ,we see the kids grow almost into 5 years and the ending was also satisfying. On the other hand wtv was made short and an ending satisfying for bothe the male leads I haven't watched the other language for these dramas but enjoyed the korean version -mr.queen, moon lovers ,boys over flower, world of the married, to the beautiful you. Also I haven't watched Korean money heist ,I started 1 ep but didn't much fell the vibe for it ,the characters seem forced into ...I didn't feel like watching it .I loved the Spanish version
Good, of course. But more interested kdrsmas, movies adapted from English or other Western films, tv series. E.g. April Snow from Random Hearts. Even more interesting, Keanu reeves and Sandra bullocks reunion film TheLakehouse was a Hollywood adsptation of the earlier Gianna Jun drama (forgot title)
Hana yori dango: I prefer matsumoto jun-Inoue mao Rich Man, Poor Woman: I prefer Ishihara Satomi - Oguri Shun Hana Kimi: Horikita Maki is the best, Maeda version is not that good
Unless you are a fan of Suho from EXO, who is the male lead of the Korean version, watch the Japanese version Rich Man Poor Woman with Oguri Shin first. The original is better.
Sorry but hanazakari no kitimachi-e just wonderful. I try to watch remake version and couldn't finish it it. It's just turn any other girls pretending a boy type series. * Jab We Met (Rom-Com, movie)
I loved mr Queen. Hilarious yet touching. Where can I watch Moon Lovers? Would love to watch that one.
dramacool!
Mr.queen👍👍👍👍👍 was very great. Fate to love you was nice too
Hana kimi, Hana Yori dango and go go princess have special place in my heart so obviously I prefer them over korean remake. I like korean odyssey though cause it's way different from journey to west. I liked both adaptation of rich man poor woman
Korean artist stand outs even in adaptation.. both inspirational and thrills
designated survivor 60 days. I really liked the korean one
12. Fated to Love You
11. A Korean Odyssey
10. Woori the Virgin
9. A Love So Beautiful
8. To the Beautiful You
7. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
6. Rich Man
5. Boys Over Flowers
4. Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area
3. Liar Game
2. The World of the Married
1. Mr. Queen
Bonuss:
Criminal Minds
Suits
Entourage
Youth, Climb the Barrier
But i think “ A love so beautiful “ Chinese version ( original) is more good & better 😊
Birth of a beauty was adapted from a 1983 Australian drama Return to Eden and a 1988 Hindi movie Khoon Bhari Maang
What ??? No Life on Mars in the list ? That was best of them all
Sorry but Hana Yori Dango just hits differently.
Good choice for number one ☝️. My choice as well
What about Designated Survivor Kdrama based on the US series of the same name?
Fated to love you, i liked the Taiwanese version. I can't bring myself to watch kversion.
Loved bof of kversion. But u gotta seee Thai version too
I enjoyed the American version of The Good Doctor, I know it’s a Kdrama original.
Yes american version was good but i was quite slow
I loved Korean odyssey
I feel like all the actors had their best acting/chemistry on that show
it's a top fave for me. wish they would've made a sequel.
I don't think woori the virgin surpasses Jane the virgin...I ve watched both and I can say that jtv has so much character development ,so many arcs ,we see the kids grow almost into 5 years and the ending was also satisfying. On the other hand wtv was made short and an ending satisfying for bothe the male leads
I haven't watched the other language for these dramas but enjoyed the korean version -mr.queen, moon lovers ,boys over flower, world of the married, to the beautiful you.
Hana yori dango: I prefer matsumoto jun-Inoue mao
Rich Man, Poor Woman: I prefer Ishihara Satomi - Oguri Shun
Hana Kimi: Horikita Maki is the best, Maeda version is not that good
It's a crime to say Rich Man surpassed Rich Man Poor Woman.
Keep streaming to USA. Love your dramas❤
We need season 2 of boys over flowers 💐 with the same actors a kind happy story ♥️
Kdrama over American versions anytime any day .No comparison K dramas are far better.
Mr queen is the best
My destiny is also good
i don't agree that boys over flower is better than the original f4 😅 sorry F4 is undeniably the best version....
Do you mean Meteor Garden, the Taiwanese adaptation? I think it was the first one. Thailand just remade the story and called it F4.
@@shiningjewel4034 Meteor garden is iconic and original...boys over flower is a remake
Just gave me a new drama to watch(Rich man) 😂 ::From South Africa.
Unless you are a fan of Suho from EXO, who is the male lead of the Korean version, watch the Japanese version Rich Man Poor Woman with Oguri Shin first. The original is better.
Mr.queen YESSSSSSSS
This lifetime is very short to watch many beautuful kdramas of all times...
I still love Meteor Garden, I still think it's better than Boys Over Flowers. Jerry Yan forever! ❤❤❤❤
mr quene ...my fav...
18 again, it was a powerful and deeper remake
i love the Japanese version then the Korean version .
Sorry but hanazakari no kitimachi-e just wonderful. I try to watch remake version and couldn't finish it it. It's just turn any other girls pretending a boy type series. Doesn't have those unique characters and elements japan version has
Also I loved watching boys over flowers. It's one of the good remake but then again hano yori dango was simply perfect
Finally liar game. I really really love Japanese version and I suggest it so many people to watch
Hana Kimi, the Japanese version, is by far the best adaptation of that story. Japan really knows how to adapt their mangas to live action!
I am from India
Love Fated to Love You. made me ugly cry by both versions!
