    thanks buddy for the video. I have 6 315watt mono crystalline solar panels voc is 40.2v and 9.96 vmp and 4 200ah 12v batteries connected in series for a 24v system and 2400watt pure sine wave inverter 24volt . my question is can this charge controller allow three of those panels in series for a 24v system?

    Hello again, I have a panel of 310 w, Luxor brand, and powmr 60 A. On a sunny day I only get 9 watts up to 22 watts, the voltage is at 38.7 V. What can be the problem of low watts? all new installation

      Sometimes you get bad new items. Try different parts and see where the problem device is, then replace. (expensive, I know).

    do you know where I could get some of those batteries? I need some solar panels also. I have been looking for a deal in panels . and batteries. I'm off grid. and using a generator to charge batts! thanks for the info. I'm researching charge controllers.

      I found some super cheap solar panels on Craigslist...They were shattered on one side, but they work great. I got 2 panels and they charge at 650 watts. Also, for the batteries, if you really want to save money, go to www.diypowerwalls.com. I learned a lot from there and have 10 kw worth of lithium batteries. This charge controller is great for lithium batteries.

      James stranger I just got 4 monocristaline 290w in San Jose CA for 69cents a watt new. Now have 1160w of panels will be running on two 50 amp makeskyblue mmpt at 12v and six 6v bank with 300amps usable . 2k puresine and breakers,wire and panel mount should be able to keep under 2100$ total. Summertime should be no problem wintertime should meet the need I am thinking.

    MPPT controllers get stuck at wrong PV voltage because scan/search software. Check you V/A on panels often, learn to understand what best voltage should be!

      Not had a single problem with my MSB units. Both version 118 and 119 with WiFi. Now if you buy the knock off version 113 from PowMr, then all bets are off. Also don't have that problem with the MingHe 7210A units but they don't like our Florida humidity as well and fail in about 6-8 months.

    I just got the 40A and all indications are it is real. Using it on a 12V system. Even though absorb is set to 14.2V I see it many times over 14.6V, even as high as 15.5V. It throws my inverter into HV fault and shuts down. Inverter is connected directly to the battery. Sometimes I walk into the shack and the panel voltage 19V and it stays right there. I disconnect panels for a few seconds and it goes right to 58-61V. Timer is set to 24 so it should be just a low voltage disconnect. That is set to 12.2V. Never see the lamp symbol. Fan comes on for a half hour even though watts are about 30 and the case is cold. I'm trying to think of what actually does work on this.

      Its tripping out on over voltage because your panek voltage is 4 times battery voltage when the instructions say to only use double. Your PV is to high and the unit has trouble tracking when the sums comes out abruply feom behind.a.cloud.

    • @TruthBiased6640
      @TruthBiased6640 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      And if it's jumping from 19 to 60 then you have a hot plug somewhere.

      Where does it say in the manual you can only have 2x PV? The manual gives a range (for 12v PV range is Voc 20 to 80v). I have same problem - the unit does not regulate voltage correctly. Same for MrPower branded units.

    • @opera5714
      @opera5714 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnscott4344 It recommends for best performance 2X. I use mine at 60V in. It does get lost in shade and tracking does not recover. It will slip into a multiple of bypass diode volts . Mine is an old version, but they sold it to me when newer version was available. Shipped from their address but they tell me they have never heard of me when I asked for updated software.

    I bought this charge controller and the manual said it would be set to 00 for lead acid. But my default was set to 01 lithium. So I set it to 00. Is that your understanding as well, the controller should be set to 00 for lead acid?

    • @MilitaryIndustrialMuseum
      @MilitaryIndustrialMuseum  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Follow the manual.

    • @sloup000
      @sloup000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I lost a bit of confidence in the manual when the default was set at 01 not 00. I did set it to 00.
      Overall I found the manual useful except for that issue and the title to disconnect pv you must follow these steps. When I believe they meant to say to connect pv.
      Anyway thanks for a great video. Yours and several others gave me confidence that it was a good controller. I've only hooked it up long enough to test It, seems fine.
      Thanks again.

  • @JoseGarcia-px9xj
    @JoseGarcia-px9xj 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you try to install more than 1 charge controller to the same battery. I have a problem, I have 6 or them connected to the same battery, they are charging good until around 3.95 per module after that 3 of them end it up in a kind of float mode, they are no charging the battery, I appreciate any advice that you can give me.

    • @MilitaryIndustrialMuseum
      @MilitaryIndustrialMuseum  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it gets too hard to push electrons in your battery then it is interpreted as being fully charged and float mode is initiated.

    • @JoseGarcia-px9xj
      @JoseGarcia-px9xj 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      what do you mean hard to push electron, some of the charge controller keep charging

    • @MilitaryIndustrialMuseum
      @MilitaryIndustrialMuseum  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those have more strength to push electrons into battery. You don't really think all your solar panel voltages are identical, because some are stronger than weaker ones, which decide to float as they cannot push anymore.

    • @TruthBiased6640
      @TruthBiased6640 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like the hardware and it's the cheapest 60amp MPPT I've seen. Uses 2 separate buck converters 180 phase difference, smartest way I know. Only sync. rect. circuit would make it perfect energywise.
    I discovered solar cells are 200% efficient at charging as compared to Line powered 95% switching charger.
