    My wife and I are the actual drivers of this truck. My hat is off to the young man we met at the expo who shot this video. It was most excellent. To answer alot of questions, we haul alot of time sensitive freight. We cant take the credit for this beautiful ride. This truck is owned by the best family ran fleet at Landstar Express, Jay Road Enterprises.
    Andy Johnson and his wife Myrian are absolutely the best. Also to relieve alot of misconceptions, our few pallets many times pay way more than a full 53 ft trailer. Just saying.

      I'm in the air cargo business... and I'm sure you are right. Sometimes just a little bit of cargo makes a 747 trip worthwhile. It isn't the cost of the freight transport - it's the cost of NOT having the freight at its needed destination ASAP that makes the profit. When you need parts to get a factory back up or get a powerplant going again, if you can get it there direct and fast, name your price.

    I work for truck dealerships. It’s time that OEM’s think a little more for truck drivers by designing just a small wash room . A fresh water tank mounted under the roof panel of the sleeper and a black water tank under . Will help a lot

    • @relaxationstation7374
      @relaxationstation7374 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've said the same thing for years. However, it took OEMs decades to get us to the sleepers that we have now so, perhaps in an few more decades we'll have a decent place to brush our teeth.

    In my opinion as a driver for many years now. I think all drivers should have a truck like this. It should be common sense if you live in the truck you should be comfortable. Maybe high employee turn over rate would be drastically reduced. Yes I know it can affect how much you can haul but whats cheaper not training so many drivers or cutting freight a little.???????????

    I honestly dont know how/why i havent seen these irl yet! Seems like such a necessity for otr/long-haul truckers. Thinking of getting my cdl; unsure if i'll stick to local/regional or if i'll do otr, but will definitely NOT do OTR without something like this

    • @GodisformewhoShallBeAgainst
      @GodisformewhoShallBeAgainst 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I wonder if you need a CDL for this probably would get more business both ways n hire more drivers if companies actually start thinking about there employees. This is sad because companies would make so much more money no hotels but greed will have his own employees sleeping in a box truck I say all companies should have a policy for hotels paid. You would be hiring more drivers because now they know you care about theere rest . And success why don't they see the logic in that .I know because they only care about rt now. These big corporations don't even care about the future. We worried about rockets goin to other worlds when we can't even conquer n make this earth better but these r our leaders. 😳 WOW.this made me quite trucking because they don't care about you even dropping or picking it up safely. Companies y'all need to do better with trucking this arena needs to be dominated with sleepers it shouldn't be a truck on the road without a sleeper that's where I'm at with it . It's common courtesy this would if not all solve some of the problems. It's disgusting.even Amazon want you to work 10 a day that's otr time they need to build a lit in these sprinter van shit should come already custom with a sleeping bed I don't care 10 hrs. Is a long time to be driving me personally it's not because I love to drive not anymore until the industry shows me more . Please if your wanna the big heads in the game please consider these points . Feel free to comment sorry so long of a rant.

    • @somethingepic777
      @somethingepic777 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GodisformewhoShallBeAgainst I think a CDL is required for a truck this size; Not sure if this specific truck would require a Class-B or Class-A (i think Class-A).
      But ya, i agree about the companies saving on hotel-rooms if they got trucks like this. And the drivers would save both money & their belt-sizes if they didnt have to resort to eating the majority of truck-stop restaurants. Also, having the driver stay in the truck (as opposed to in a hotel) would add a layer of protection/security to the truck and/or load being tampered with.
      However, as someone pointed out on another vid, trucks with SuperSleepers and trailers are harder to find parking for. And also harder to get around corners and certain docks, since the truck has a longer wheel-base. Doubt this is the case for a box-truck that has a super-sleeper tho

    • @somethingepic777
      @somethingepic777 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@exilemike Yup. At this point, im planning on doing local/regional (where im home every night [or day, if i get night-shifts]) until i get a good amount of training and savings built up. After that, if i decide to do OTR, i'll probably become an O/O and get a SuperSleeper-truck with a trailer (MAYBE SuperSleeper box-truck. Not sure)

    Evert long haul truck should have a sleeper like that. Bunk, table, small kitchen, sink, shower and toilet. Every driver has at one time or another woke up with a rumbling intestine and had to sprint to the rest area or truck stop toilet. Most of us have been stuck (sometimes right on the highway) due to wrecks or road closures. Companies should meet basic human needs, I know the self driving trucks are on the way, but not that close. Want to have more drivers or bring back old truckers like me, make the sleepers more habitable

    Pre JYST, before 9-9-19. Doesn’t have the air deflectors on the a-pillar. Needs the vortex manipulators installed. Parts bulletin is actually called vortex generator. But It’s a good dr. Who reference. Without the vortex generator you get a nice lake on the passenger and driver window when driving in rain over 60mph. Kinda hard to see out the side mirrors. But you know, you should slow down if it’s raining cats and dogs.
    I worry immediately if it’s built before 7/2017. Has the one box harness been updated/ replaced yet? This is a cool year though. Put your log book on j1939 250k and not worry about anything when it crashes j1939. I think just the radio or hvac controls is on that datalink. So like no big deal. Although it is when your steering wheel buttons don’t work for some reason. I think it’s just the radio. I’d have to look at the architecture solution. Master list of the ECUs and datalinks they’re on. Genius move. I’d like to think it was the Kyle guy, but it wasn’t me. Man I love working on Freightliner trucks. They are so much easier to fix. Not sure if time and experience has something to do with that. I’m pretty sure that’s what that is. I was hoping to get to a limit at some point on this comment. Evidently I can just keep going. Man, don’t DON’T get me started on butt connectors and voltage drop calculators.

      It’s a prison on wheels. Only imbeciles would subject themselves to. Human beings are not meant to live on the road.

    We had a race trailer and truck combo that had a full kitchen and shower. Since it had those it was considered an RV and you didn't need a CDL because it was for private use. We also didn't have to meet the dot standards and were larger than any truck on the road. The dot inspectors gave us hell all the time but we were completely legal under the letter of the law. Ol moby dick was fun to drive.

    When I see these, I think were does the water go? Do they have tanks? Where are they dumped? Id rather not have the bathroom. That could be a closet.
