@@MALICEM12 I play Girls Frontline and I didn't realize that... when your dolls "Die" in battle, they don't die permanently. I thought I was going into a Gacha Dark Souls. So I always meticulously withdrew my dolls before they were lost, and just quit if I was cornered. Had my grinding and slowly advancing lol. The one time I lost one, and realized they don't actually die, had me like, "...Boi I wasted 3 years grinding and now it tells me they don't die in battle? I don't know if I should feel angry or ashamed."
Even though I don't speak Russian and thus can't understand the lyrics, this song made me emotional as hell, especially combined with the visuals. I wanted a game with cute rifle waifus, and instead got a great moving story with memorable characters and some heart-wrenching moments (remember the Vallhalla collab?) as well as an incredible community that is by and large more helpful and welcoming than many much bigger gacha communities I've seen. I'm happy that you liked it. The song can be interpreted in many ways, personally for me it's about saying good night to those who can rest, and those who can't will keep going, which I think encapsulates a part of GFL's story. Great to hear it has made you interested in Kino, it's a great band even if you don't get the lyrics.

While Dolls do not have the same self preservation instinct and fear of death as humans have, they still hold memories at immense value. still active as an veteran GFL commander. Still remember how I joined EN as part of the first pre-registration players and got BAR as your first MG. I may not be active mostly now but I always come back and return to do the story. And it really is unbelievable how far we have gotten. GFL holds special to me than any other gacha games.
Yeah I feel the same way, no other gacha game managed to hit the spot right for me aside from Gray Raven, I have played so much gacha games but I quit all of them eventually, even Azur lane which was the one who I dedicated most of my time back then not GFL, probably because my phone couldn't handle it and it was annoying using a VPN everytime trying to just play the damn game in a third world country, EN wasn't available here obviously so I had a big hiatus. But feels nice to be with the dolls again.
I agree with that man. I started about a month or two after they opened it up to everyone and I’m definitely not as active now as I was then. Even then I was mainly only active during summer/winter breaks in college. The story was/is amazing and I really need to return to play the new chapters and events at some point. I stopped around ch 12 I think. Edit: I stopped at the end of Ch 9

The game takes place in Eastern Europe, and to my understanding Kino was and still is popular among soldiers. On top of that the message I interpret from the song is that while we lay to rest the dead or the innocent, there are others who must go on, and I felt like it all made it fit pretty well into the current story of GFL. Also I noticed this probably got recommended to people who just listen to Kino and have never played GFL, sorry about that, I wasn't expecting the video to have that reach lol. You will be surprised if you search for Angelia real name and Kino vocalist name. As a russian I can say that Kino songs are very deep and have a lot of meanings. This song fits the game very much.

Everytime a friend of mine who plays Genshin Impact says they've experienced gacha hell, I just nod and sigh, and tell him I feel you alright, but clearly he wouldn't feel what I did, not the type of person to handle this kind of hell, just like the other four who I recommended this, not all can have the patience and stomach for this, and learning from failures every single time with consequences. Some play gacha to past the time, me? I play it for the story, and indeed it is truly unique for it's genre, I enjoy this hell and the brave new world ahead of me.

Started GFL to kill time between FGO, ended up understanding what trash it is and ditching FGO completely . Even if story starts kinda slow - GFL is levels ahead on story part even on most modern Pc/consoles games. It’s really MGS x Ghost in the shell/Patlabor movies x William Gibson works. Unironically one of my favourite games turned out to be mobile game
I have been stuck in GFL story for so long I had to drop it. Was stuck with chapter 9 or 10? Can't recall it was the one where m4 comes back solo to the battlefield but couldn't go in where a human female that persica asked to help her out. Maybe I should redownload it and look up easy clearing teams, never really invested into researching squads and whatnot in that game compared to other gachas and the like. Edit: Also is it similar to arknights endtier content where even events give most of the story lore to the point you need to look up vids/transcripts to understand?

He didn't wanted to be associated with us because of some order or program. He came to us to brief us on mission and important matter that concerned all of us. But he never felt engaged. He barely looked at us. I didn't really knew why. One night, i snook off the dorm to get some ice cream. I noticed the Commander's room was barely lit and the door was slightly open. I checked inside to see if he was alright. Instead, i saw the commander in his office alone. He was wearing his VR training set, the plastic rifle on his hips, sat on the ground and sobbing his guts out. He had at least 3 or 4 empty bottles of whisky around the room. Probably Jack Daniel based of the scent. He also seemed to have a picture in his hand, i couldn't discern what it was. I didn't know what to think of it. He looked so different then when we usually saw him. He looked destroyed, a shell of a former man. He looked broken. I dont know if i should have entered the office and go hug him. But i didn't, i left him and went for my dorm, forgetting about the ice cream. : I always wondered why he had a strong alcohol and smoke smell on his jacket and his room. I wont ask that anymore. I just wonder why he was like that. And i wonder why he lies to all of us. He isn't some great stone faced commander that we all though he was, he's just a man. But dont take it the wrong way, i dont see just a man, i see a man who has the strength to carry all the... whatever... that happened to him and made him what he is today. I guess its normal for humans to let off a bit of steam from time to time. I dont blame him. I just dont know how to... do anything to make him feel better.

This is just fantastic! The responsibilities of life required I bow out of GFL, the grind was too much to keep up with. But I hope that GFL 2 will have a more manageable grind so I can jump back in and lead my dolls to victory again!
Game's story is my absolute favourite among all videogames I've played and know about. I'll always treasure how good, complete, dense and developed it is, and I am looking forward a lot to see how it continues in GFL2

I can admit that song used there is named "Calm Night (Spokoynaya noch)", but when you watched lore of GFL for first time you won't have this "calm night". Maybe even for several days. This tone, words, sounds of instruments... Together they making the song that makes you feel this own, like you really was there. Like you saw these all moments.

But Machlian was a pure lamb, like an innocent kid. Everything was tragic, the potential loss of the Earl's squad, Light's death, the last news report by her sister and the cherry on top, Machlian's death. At this point I'm coping hard.

I've only been reading about GFL's Lore and Storyline for about a week now after I finished watching the anime, but GFL is something I have not felt for any other Anime that I've watched. How its a war-torn world, with Girls that are Machines with emotions made for the sole purpose of fighting, How M4A1 Slowly starts to lose everyone she loves, it hurts me that they feel this kind of pain, even though their fictional.

i used to think that before i got myself RPK-16 doll. when i realize that her arms arent covered in skin looking plastic and she and other dolls know full well that they are built to serve.
When i had depression, right at the pandemic, i started playing this game. Saying that this helped me a lot with my emotions is an understatement. I love this game, and i cried, laughed at jokes, and then cried again (i played the DJMax collab, and i was feeling so bad that day, that just by seeing the happy ending i started crying).
Never could a game that looks so innocent, turn out to be such a PTSD simulator. Finishing the Story events feels like tearing through personal hell like the girls. Yes you've completed it, you've killed Para/SF, you've completed the mission but at great cost. It's perfectly balanced storywriting to show yes the good guys made progress, we're on the way to stopping this menace but damn does it make it feel like every victory comes at great cost. Really does make you feel "why do we keep doing this"

@@MALICEM12 I play Girls Frontline and I didn't realize that... when your dolls "Die" in battle, they don't die permanently. I thought I was going into a Gacha Dark Souls. So I always meticulously withdrew my dolls before they were lost, and just quit if I was cornered. Had my grinding and slowly advancing lol.
The one time I lost one, and realized they don't actually die, had me like, "...Boi I wasted 3 years grinding and now it tells me they don't die in battle? I don't know if I should feel angry or ashamed."
Even though I don't speak Russian and thus can't understand the lyrics, this song made me emotional as hell, especially combined with the visuals.
I wanted a game with cute rifle waifus, and instead got a great moving story with memorable characters and some heart-wrenching moments (remember the Vallhalla collab?) as well as an incredible community that is by and large more helpful and welcoming than many much bigger gacha communities I've seen.

I'm happy that you liked it. The song can be interpreted in many ways, personally for me it's about saying good night to those who can rest, and those who can't will keep going, which I think encapsulates a part of GFL's story.

My headcanon is that the commander still has the notebook found in Spring's cafe as a keepsake long after the events of GFL 1. While Dolls do not have the same self preservation instinct and fear of death as humans have, they still hold memories at immense value.
So, long after many dolls are gone and forgotten, marked down as just combat losses, the commander still remembers them all, their names written on the last page of the notebook.

I'm a vet of many of the story events in GFL... but god damn Mirror Stage fucked me up for a bit
still active as an veteran GFL commander. Still remember how I joined EN as part of the first pre-registration players and got BAR as your first MG. I may not be active mostly now but I always come back and return to do the story. And it really is unbelievable how far we have gotten. GFL holds special to me than any other gacha games.
Yeah I feel the same way, no other gacha game managed to hit the spot right for me aside from Gray Raven, I have played so much gacha games but I quit all of them eventually, even Azur lane which was the one who I dedicated most of my time back then not GFL, probably because my phone couldn't handle it and it was annoying using a VPN everytime trying to just play the damn game in a third world country, EN wasn't available here obviously so I had a big hiatus. But feels nice to be with the dolls again.
I agree with that man. I started about a month or two after they opened it up to everyone and I’m definitely not as active now as I was then. Even then I was mainly only active during summer/winter breaks in college. The story was/is amazing and I really need to return to play the new chapters and events at some point. I stopped around ch 12 I think.

-First of all, I don't speak russian, so I'm sorry if you can understand the lyrics and it doesn't match up to what's happening on the screen lol
-Name of the song is Spokoynaya Noch/Calm Night by Kino
-Why did I use Tsoi's music? The game takes place in Eastern Europe, and to my understanding Kino was and still is popular among soldiers. On top of that the message I interpret from the song is that while we lay to rest the dead or the innocent, there are others who must go on, and I felt like it all made it fit pretty well into the current story of GFL.
Also I noticed this probably got recommended to people who just listen to Kino and have never played GFL, sorry about that, I wasn't expecting the video to have that reach lol.

Everytime a friend of mine who plays Genshin Impact says they've experienced gacha hell, I just nod and sigh, and tell him I feel you alright, but clearly he wouldn't feel what I did, not the type of person to handle this kind of hell, just like the other four who I recommended this, not all can have the patience and stomach for this, and learning from failures every single time with consequences. Can't recall it was the one where m4 comes back solo to the battlefield but couldn't go in where a human female that persica asked to help her out. Start
: I always felt the commander was distant on purpose. He didn't wanted to be associated with us because of some order or program. He came to us to brief us on mission and important matter that concerned all of us. But he never felt engaged. He barely looked at us. I didn't really knew why. One night, i snook off the dorm to get some ice cream. I noticed the Commander's room was barely lit and the door was slightly open. I checked inside to see if he was alright. Instead, i saw the commander in his office alone. He was wearing his VR training set, the plastic rifle on his hips, sat on the ground and sobbing his guts out. He had at least 3 or 4 empty bottles of whisky around the room. Probably Jack Daniel based of the scent. He also seemed to have a picture in his hand, i couldn't discern what it was. I didn't know what to think of it. He looked so different then when we usually saw him. He looked destroyed, a shell of a former man. He looked broken. I dont know if i should have entered the office and go hug him. But i didn't, i left him and went for my dorm, forgetting about the ice cream.
: I always wondered why he had a strong alcohol and smoke smell on his jacket and his room. I wont ask that anymore. I just wonder why he was like that. And i wonder why he lies to all of us. He isn't some great stone faced commander that we all though he was, he's just a man. But dont take it the wrong way, i dont see just a man, i see a man who has the strength to carry all the... whatever... that happened to him and made him what he is today. I guess its normal for humans to let off a bit of steam from time to time. I dont blame him. I just dont know how to... do anything to make him feel better.

Game's story is my absolute favourite among all videogames I've played and know about. I'll always treasure how good, complete, dense and developed it is, and I am looking forward a lot to see how it continues in GFL2

I can admit that song used there is named "Calm Night (Spokoynaya noch)", but when you watched lore of GFL for first time you won't have this "calm night". Maybe even for several days. This tone, words, sounds of instruments... Together they making the song that makes you feel this own, like you really was there. Like you saw these all moments.

@@andriecutay3053 you are not wrong, Light's death was tragic as hell but he was a soldier, defiant even in his last breath. We knew that this was a real possibility and he died as a brave man. But Machlian was a pure lamb, like an innocent kid. Everything was tragic, the potential loss of the Earl's squad, Light's death, the last news report by her sister and the cherry on top, Machlian's death. At this point I'm coping hard.

I've only been reading about GFL's Lore and Storyline for about a week now after I finished watching the anime, but GFL is something I have not felt for any other Anime that I've watched. How its a war-torn world, with Girls that are Machines with emotions made for the sole purpose of fighting, How M4A1 Slowly starts to lose everyone she loves, it hurts me that they feel this kind of pain, even though their fictional.
and the anime is not even the 30% of the feels in the game... at the end, what we are fighting for?

The game's story is filled the most with tragedy. Lore stuff gives some good context, though. You can find articles in Gamepress about the fictional history before GFL.

i got the game not knowing i wouldve found the best waifu, story and character development. i got the game thinking it was directed at the female audience, not knowing it was for everyone who wanted to know what a true story was, this is why i love GFL and no one can tell me its a garbage game. cough cough some of my friends cough cough
i got into the game for a friend, he play it since it start it, but stopped cuz his mobile, he lure me with waifus and all that shit, and yeah, at the end of the day i got really good girls, my beloved M14 or ouroboros and destroyer that i care a lot for these, but i wasn't ready for the story, singularity crushed me, all the aspects, and CT make want to cry seeing soppo all destroyed, and all that shit, now im sitting in EN, waiting for a vengeance, againts 2 ladies, that take a lot of what i care, MS machlian, never forget

When i had depression, right at the pandemic, i started playing this game. Saying that this helped me a lot with my emotions is an understatement.
I love this game, and i cried, laughed at jokes, and then cried again
(i played the DJMax collab, and i was feeling so bad that day, that just by seeing the happy ending i started crying).
I never expected the game to break me the way it did...
Girls frontline: Not about girls
Never could a game that looks so innocent, turn out to be such a PTSD simulator. Finishing the Story events feels like tearing through personal hell like the girls. Yes you've completed it, you've killed Para/SF, you've completed the mission but at great cost.
It's perfectly balanced storywriting to show yes the good guys made progress, we're on the way to stopping this menace but damn does it make it feel like every victory comes at great cost. Really does make you feel "why do we keep doing this"
