What i got from this teaser is that the Mara wont manifest leaves and branches when infecting hot people.
It probably takes time for it to grow

@@GunNlazor Or maybe they're too strong and resist the physical mutation but the mental is affected. We see that cloud knights completely lose their sense of rationality meanwhile JingLiu is still able to fight back with her mental. I also don't think JingLiu was using her full strength during this fight because she wanted Jing Yuan to kill her.
I could be wrong but I think Mara isn’t contagious, it’s just what happens to some members of long-life species whose ancestors were blessed/cursed by the Aeon of Abundance. That’s part of why the Xianzhou follow The Hunt now and hate the Abundance. It’s kind of similar to the concept of “Erosion” in Genshin and what happened to Azhdaha.
The EN voice artist did an oopsie and posted something that looked very much like a splash art when she announced her voicing Jing Yuan's master, so presumably she is not actually dead.
I mean, it's fairly obvious she's going to be important in the current story simply because she shows up in the launch trailer (I'm 99% sure she's the blindfolded lady) because they absolutely wouldn't waste their time making her a whole 3D model just to throw her away because of some animation they made a couple of weeks later.
You do know like a 3rd of the playable characters in Honkai Impact 3rd are dead right? So there’s a possibility she actually is dead.
@@rillzy9637 there's a difference between making a character playable and then killing them and killing a character before they were ever playable and i dont think there is any character in hi3rd that died before there was a version of them playable(correct me if i'm wrong)

and its also foreshadowing that Yanqing is destined to do the same for Jing Yuan.

The foreshadowing that she will eventually get mara strucked when she asked him to not hold back is pretty obvious but i guess reason why people aren't convinced it isn't mara struck is the fact that there are no flowers sprouting from her.

Alejandro is a GOAT, I have Cyno and 99% of why I rolled for him was Alejandro s stellar voice-acting work with that character.
The VA is also voicing the main character in Hell's paradise anime!! He is SO good

Mara is basically what awaits long-lived species from the Xianzhou Alliance. This is part of their "gift" of longevity, and why they hate Yaoshi, the abundance (who's responsible for this "gift").

Mara struck is essentially there worlds name for Honkai corruption, remember in Honkai impact 3rd it turned people into monsters or zombies of the Honkai Will.
I still would love a full Honkai impact 3rd anime. That game has so much mainstream potential but is hard for casual Western players to get into.

They revered The Abundance Yaoshi, she gave her people eternal life, but it ended up making them crazy, so they now revere The Hunt Lan, live in a giant space ship and travel around hunting all the creations of Abundance, when someone goes crazy because of their eternal life they are called mara-struck.

Yanqing says the same line kiana says to himeko before she dies " I want to be the best Valkyrie ever " . jing yuan is soo gonna die
A HUGE death flag if you played HI3. This is identical to Kiana-Himeko's situation. Kiana saying "I want to be the best valkyrie!" and Yanqing saying "I want to be a Xianzhou legend!" Not to mention that Yanqing in HI3 actually DID kill his master. So Jing Yuan is so dying
