l played football for Freckleton against George in the 1972-1974 years when he was still in Blackpool playing centre half for Bispham Juniors in the Sunday league. He also played for his school team which l think was Montgomery if l recall correctly so again we were in opposition as l also played centre half, for Kirkham Carr Hill and Freckleton Even then if you had a football brain and understanding of the game, you could easily spot the potential he possessed as a future pro footballer. l really enjoyed hearing him speak in this interview, an intelligent man with a wealth of experience of how the game use to be back in the day. George glad to have competed against you, and shared your love of football I also remember Mick Robinson who if l recall correctly played for Marton Cong's or WMCA. As George mentioned now sadly passed away. Also Mark Lawrenson of Liverpool, and now football focus fame, all great players and the ones who made it through the football maze as George described.
George, you were, and still are, adored by Welsh fans of my generation who watched you play and give 110% in every match! 🤗
