I just finished watching the movie, and I can't believe that when I saw the movie poster, I just skipped, thinking it was not interesting... What a magnificient movie! An absolute must to watch! Zach was spot on! The producers could not have chosen a better actor! My first tears, were when I saw Tommy's mom before the trip, and my last tears were when I saw Tommy's mom after the trip. There was so much emotions. I love how it started by a silly beer run, but turned into discovering the reality of the Vietnam war. This is not a comedy like you would think before watching the movie, but a serious war movie from the eyes of a civilian who's just trying to find his friend soldiers. It shows how we all love our soldiers and veterans, but we all just want peace rather than war. Our leaders have such a great responsibility, and I wish that one day they stop abusing it. In any case, this was a magnificient movie! A level that I haven't seen in a while! Chickie, what a hero without a cap! Amazing!
I completely agree! I was so surprised the shift the movie took from the comedic beer run, the rollercoaster of emotions was very fun and I haven't felt that in a long time during a movie, must watch!!
I went to Amsterdam when i turned 18, im finnish and in the first smoke shop i went to the cashier after looking at my id realized i was finnish and started talking about a hockey game from previous night maybe Kanada-finland and i do not know why i said i saw it when i had no clue they even played the previous night, he talked about the game for like 2 minutes becouse we were the only customers and i was embarassed i had no clue and it threw me off so much i said my own name wrong, realized he already knows it from my id, tipped a jarr filled with mixer you use instead of tobacco and it was full and it all went to the floor and all around acted like a creeper becouse it threw me off so much😂
haha i've done that before too, but you would be surprised how many US citizens have no clue that New Mexico is a US state. when i travel around the US and people find out i'm from New Mexico and say "welcome to our country" and it takes everything i have to not slap them lol i've even had it happen in Texas, Colorado, and like 5 miles into Arizona (NM and AZ are 2 of the 4 corners states)... the girl at the cash register had NM maps for sale 2 inches from her, and could see NM out the window. i've also gotten the "you don't look Mexican" line before too, and i just reply "i'm White-sican". some pretend like it's something they have heard of, but the majority of people just look stunned and confused, and i have grown to love that look
Like I mean, sure he wasn’t enlisted or part of the army or veteran, but come on this guy is considered a soldier cause he went through war and the battlefield with no experience just to give this boys some beers😂
Dude why am I just seeing this trailer now. Whoever was in charge for advertising and promoting this movie should be fired IMMEDIATELY!! This should've been on the big screen!!
This is insane! All over a beer! I'm not a drinker. And I've tried many of the beers out in our world to see what all the craze is about. And I just can't get it! The bitter aftertaste throws me off every time and I waste the bottles, mugs, cans (them rescued by my kindhearted buddies of course 😂). I've seen so much pain and needless destruction of lives around me throughout my life just because of fokhhhin alcohol 😅 Looks like I need to search a bit more 😅 Corona Light and Bira White (in india) seem okay! But I'm not going to vietnam over an Okay drink 🤔 My poison of choice would be a 300ML bottle of Thumbs Up (an old soda owned by coca cola now). Or a Cali Shandy (a pineapple drink by San Miguel beer in the Philippines).
I HEARD A OUT THE REAL LIFE OF THE GREATEST BEER RUN MY DAD WAS IN VIETNAM IN 1968 IM GLAD IT WAS TOLD IT WAS A BIG THING BACK IN 1968 & VIETNAM I JOIN THE ARMY AFTER MY DAD RETIRE FROM SERVED IN VIETNAM US ARMY MARCUS 13 FOX FIELD ARTILLERY 👍
Yes, but this was local beer from the neighborhood and neighbors they grew up with. It was actually about the show of support and respect than just a beer.
Just one question. Does the movie over glorify the american side? Or does it kinda show that war is just bad in general? Cause I cannot stand movies that glorify one side. Have not seen it yet
he brings 20-30 beers tops, maybe in a duffle bag? that would be gone by the time he went to the first location. or even by the time he landed... makes no sense.
Good movie the only thing i dont like is the hippie "pacifist" message at the end of it. Communists were the bad guys not american soldiers defending the liberty of this people.
@@Tourettes-syndrome-gaming Look at Vietnam now, look at what happened after America left in Cambodia were there was a genocide. Those dumb protests just prolonged the Cold War and left the lives of millions of people in chains.

Where can I see this? Is it only on Apple TV? I can't find it and don't have Apple.
@@unclearless As far as I know, it's only on Apple TV these days.
I agree. Simplest but a great movie with superb carefree but serious acting work
I completely agree! I was so surprised the shift the movie took from the comedic beer run, the rollercoaster of emotions was very fun and I haven't felt that in a long time during a movie, must watch!!
This movie blew me away , terrific acting by Efron and crew
Zac Efron has turned out to be a very good actor.. I thought he killed it in The Iron Claw
1:37 I was asked “You’re from America?” when I was in Australia and my dumbass really said “Uh No Texas Actually.”
😂😂😂😂
Now I gotta watch this movie.

this happening in real life is insane dedication
the guy was a former marine and Korean War veteran, dedication comes with that territory

I just found out this is legitimately based on a true story. That’s too cool

Indian but i kinda like it
I'm pretty sure the boys could get all the beer they wanted in Nam. The basis of this movie sounds weird.
Yes, but this was local beer from the neighborhood and neighbors they grew up with. It was actually about the show of support and respect than just a beer.
Point missed.
he wanted to show them that their neighbourhood supported them and thought of them and brought some local beer while doing it
How a Civilian got into a Warzone easily???😂
You'd be surprised how far a mustache can get you.
He was a merchant marine and got a place on a boat delivering ammunition to vietnam
And a lot of soldier just assumed he worked for the cia beacause of his civilian clothing

bad acting, even worse costumes, huge insult to the cause
