I see what you mean and I agree but don't know if you've ever been to a pre-race like that. It's not the bus engine that's running, it's a power generator (always diesel off course) that is usually on the other side of the bus. Some teams attach a big pipe to it which deviates the fumes over the top part and in another direction. Still I agree that is not the best thing but it's the most suitable thing they can arrange for such events for pre-race warm ups. ;-)
I find it interesting that they leave the bus running. Normally i see signs saying "do not leave engine running, fumes enter the building." And yet here we have elite athletes warming up right outside what i presume is a diesel powered bus?
