- In this video, I go through some of the basic functions of a Digital Multimeter,
1. How to measure Capacitance (F) of different types of capacitors by using Digital Multimeter.
2. Do and Don't for measuring the capacitance.
3. How to test a Capacitor by using Digital Multimeter.
4. How to test Capacitors without using any Digital Multimeter.
5. How to identify the good and bad Capacitors.

Thanks, I was an electronic technician for about 20+ years before moving into software. You bring back good memories. And your methods are the same as was we did.
Excellent video, however i disagree with 2 things.
1. 20% deviation really should be replaced. It is on its way towards failing. 10% deviation is the normal acceptance.
2. Do not ever use your fingers to cross the leads in order to discharge capacitors.
Other than those to things. This is a good video and helps people out. Keep up the good work.!
Awesome, thank you so much. Very easy to understand and quite informative. I realize you made the video a few years ago but, best i have seen. Wanted to give you props man.

Excellent video content! Apologies for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you researched - Runayslarn Survival Manifestation (google it)? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to repair your electronic items without the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate finally got astronomical results with it.

hi, thank you for this video... please how can we read a propylène capacitor like the following : CL 21 155j 250v ( Cl 21 refers to manufacturer, 250v is maximum voltage supported, but 155j ?
15 5 J ---> 15 [first two digit] | 5[ no to zero after first two digit] | J [Tolerance +-5%] |unit in pF
15 * 10^5 pF ----> 1500000pF -----> 1.5µF

Hello can you please tell me if i try to replace big electrolytic capacitors from chassis (hantarex) from the power of the board and to other places of the board before i disolder them i must discharge them? If yes how? with the same way of the screwdriver even if they are soldered?
Hi, my friend. My capacitor has this written on it: 474J 630V S733 MPP - I measured 530nF with a multimeter. Is that ok or do I need to replace it? I don't understand the letters on the capacitor. Thanks
