Not gonna lie, the idea of camping in that cove overnight doesn't seem like the worst thing, bet there would be some epic astro opportunities with that arch in the background!
The long-lens photo was far better than the wide angle. And now you've gained local knowledge of that cove. You should definitely lead a workshop there.
In these stressful and uncomfortable times, your constant positivity always puts a smile on my face Brendan. It was great to see you having fun with this location and what beautiful images you captured. Yet still you believe you can do better. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with in the future from the same location. Really enjoying this Algarve series. Thank you 😊
Great to see you out and about dude! I remember you giving me the "camera off tripod, walk around with live view" tip in Lofoten. I still try to remember it before just setting up my tripod!
When all else fails, keep it simple. And keep on trying. Good to see you having a great time, (kids and at beach). Just need that accurate tide guide, definitely got the locations. Thanks for sharing again Brendan.
The sun on the face and the sand in the feet. What a great feeling that must be BvS and it looks a greta location for you to revisit time and time again
Awesome location Brendan, and good luck with your new place! This video makes me want to get my camera out and search for a new location in my home town. 👍🏻
Last year I also discovered the Algarve as a wonderful place to take photos. We were in Lagos in a nice hotel quite close to the lighthouse. I was at this arch during the day, saw also pictures from down there, but I didn't know that there is a tunnel. Many thanks for that. Time to fly there again :-D
Just come across your chanel Brendan and enjoyed the latest two vlogs - I've shot the arch from that hidden beach through the tunnel and can attest to that being a great spot so definitely get your self a return visit - as an aside and your comments previously on risk assessments, they are definitely required - I was on that beach with an incoming tide and the tunnel was half filled with water on my exit, I stumbled on that rock which was under the waves, fell and my camera gear was written off full of sea water! INsurance paid out but that was the end of my photography for that trip !
Beautiful location. Fun to see you exploring and having a good time. I especially loved the minimalist arch photo. I look forward to seeing more of Portugal.
Hey there, just stumbled upon your video... glad that i did! I live in Tavira and the beaches here (though with warmer water) are not as photogenic as the ones on the western side of the Algarve, but the thing that really is a buisance is the lack of clouds we have to go through most of the times (good climate has that "thing"). You got yourself a new subscriber and maybe when can meet someday for a landscape shoot. Cheers!
Wow, that is an incredible view for sunrise! It looked even more peaceful when the moon was still out. I can only imagine what the beach by the arch looks like right at sunrise!
Was feeling a little out of sorts this morning and I see vids from two of my favorite creators from opposite sides of the world. Sunny oceanside beaches with cliffs from you and waterfalls with mossy forest from A.G. Life is good.
Nice seeing this location. I was there a couple of years ago and although it looks like an easy location to photograph I also needed a lot of time for fine tuning. Anyways, I think you have to revisit in October or possibly in November when the sun is much farther in the south and you'll also have higher chance for dramatic skies and see. You'll love the Algarve in Autumn I think!
I think when you say you don't want to mix personal with business, that's fine. But what WE CAN do is support your business. To that end, I've put a modest order in with your merch store and if others did that too, that way you have a stronger business case. And, it's a win-win situation, because we get BVS march to play with. 🖖👍
Brendan you will be tourism ambassador of Algarve vs Portugal 👌 If you have opportunity and time, explore the Costa Vicentina!! Stunning cliffs there!!
When you started running on the beach, I was like "mmmh, let's see Brendan getting swooshed by a wave" glad it didn't happen ahah and yes, Algarve and Lagos have those low tide caves, but there are beaches that literally disappear in hight tide, so be careful. I know you do :p
You deserve a medal for getting up so early. Mornings kill me. But love the video. Love to see how you accept and acknowledge that things don't go to plan. But your photos are stunning even when you say it didn't work 😂😂😂 Hope you bank gets its star in hear soon for you.
BVS!!! Great video man and glad to see you’re finally home. I love the square crop with the arch at 9:20. Beautiful photo buddy and looking forward to more Portugal content! Peeeaaace!!!!!
Love your videos! Keep the blogs coming. Random question! How do you go longer then a 30 sec exposure on the eos r? I’ve been wondering how you do that! Thanks in advance
This is my home Brendan. Next time, try a panorama vertical with two lines. Then stitch and warp them in photoshop. I have done it and without a 10 mm FF lens, you cannot do it. Believe me i have try, and try.
I'm an amateur photographer in Portugal and i never explored Algarve, it seems i'm missing too much... you can do some astrophotography with that arch ;) i've seen that arch at night. Thanks for showing me some wonders of my country, really need to go to Algarve in the winter.
What I like to do when you don't know if you want everything, is to shoot a vertical panorama with a lot of frames. This way you can 'make' your composition in post.
Hey bud, trying to do the membership thing, I’m a member of Greg’s channel already so makes sense here as well. Can’t see how and the link doesn’t work that I can see... I am getting old though lol... right, back to the video. Hope ya get the apartment sorted, I hate mortgage companies, did that game earlier this year and so far so good thank god! Cheers Jase
The difference between a pro and amateurs - "I'll come back to this location when the conditions are right" the rest of us amateurs would have just taken a load of shots. Nice shots again, please no more cliff top shoots - I'm getting virtual vertigo 🤣

Brilliant, you looked like a happy child when you were running through the tunnels trying to beat the tide

Enjoyed that one Brendan, a bit of adventure and a happy photographer.
I just wanted to say thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning with your little run across the beach to avoid the waves. Hello from Canada 🇨🇦
Haha. Glad you liked that.
Love this. It’s humbling that you can’t capture such a beautiful place
Epic moon! I personally love taking photos of a full moon with the light reflected in the water.
I admire people who are able to wake up that early!

Another stunning location!! Love the picture, but also really looking forward to a picture from the arch shot from the beach you found!

Hi Brandon. Nice work. Can you please advise on how to control Hot pixels during long exposure photography

Thanks for watching!
My choice of shot would have been the moon light rippling of the sea between the land spit and sea stacks.
Run Forrest, run!

Hi brendan. Love you channel. Q but why do alot of you landscape photographers not use a small light when vloging. Cheers

Hey Brendan, like your videos a lot! Loved your colourful camo jacket in this.... could you tell me the link/brand? :)
Thanks Alison. The Jacket is from Superdry. I have no link, but I'm guessing it'll show in a search of their site.
@@BrendanvanSon thanks so much! Just loved it. I'm so grateful for your videos:)

Why didn't you try to do a panorama shot or a focus stacking images.?
"Why do you have to make things so complicated" I was waiting for you to break into an Avril Lavigne rap. What a Beautiful location 👌
6:03 which song?
Anyone? Please?
Future vid I’m waiting for the yeah we’re stuck see you in 5 hrs lol
Great vid as always
As you were running, I was thinking, "Don't fall! Don't fall!" 🤣
What lens you recommend for landscape I’ll be picking up the canon r6 any recommendations
If you can afford it, the RF 15-35mm is amazing. All my gear is in a link in the description of the video.

The link should work. If not, on mobile at least there's an option to "join" below, that does the same.
10:44 the face of happiness
important question - surely you must get so hungry starting so early, what snacks do you take with you?
Is that a filter in front of your lens? The square thing?
It is! Video explaining them coming soon.
The difference between a pro and amateurs - "I'll come back to this location when the conditions are right" the rest of us amateurs would have just taken a load of shots. Nice shots again, please no more cliff top shoots - I'm getting virtual vertigo 🤣
I almost yelled at BVS for walking that Grand Canyon ledge in flip flops. Oh well.
👍👍 Rock on!

Magic - By The Coast
@@AndrewHamiltonPhotography thank you so much 🙏
The full moon will make the tide much higher and the next new moon will be a lot lower, July 20th is the next new moon
Hope you can work something out with the banks to finance a loan - looks like a great location to settle down in.
Fingers are crossed!
Jörn Suller 👍🏻
Wow, that Jacket requires a prior health warning
"May cause seizure"
Awww, guys that’s really crap news about the mortgage..... I really feel for you and Jodie - but keeping everything crossed for you 😊
Do you ever think maybe you are too picky and mabye should just take photos and have fun. Well, unless you are on a working on a publication job.
