MAHALIMA is a unique word coined by the fandom to refer to OT5 but it's also a play of 3 Tagalog words that mean we love the five boys:
MAhal = Love
HAlina = Fascinated
LIMA = Five
And it's so sweet that the boys know about this unique word in the fandom that Pablo actually used it in the song but put his own twist to it saying MAHALIMA = "Mahal ka ng lima" meaning "the five love you" . It's like their response to A'tin - that they love us back. Just so sweet!

Actually according to the A'tin who created Mahalima, It is a combination of 3 words
MAhal = love
naHAlina = fascinated
LIMA= five
So its like our love for five men (SB19) is fascinating.

SB19 is a play on their company name ShowBT and Soundbreak 19. Soundbreak because they want to break the conventions of what OPM (Original Pilipino Music) is and make Filipino music recognized globally. 19 is the difference between South Korea and Philippines area codes. The fandom is called A'tin (Ours) but pronounced as eighteen because without A'tin you cant have SB19.
Thats how SB19 got their name and how they came up with the fandom name.

Sb19 comes from their company name ShowBt.. and 19 is taken from the country code of Korea ( 86) and philippines ( 62).. you add or subtract that..the answer will be 19.. so they named their group SB19.. but you know Pablo his mind is so complex.. SB19 could also mean SoundBreak19.. he said they want to break the music industry with their music style...
Now..
A'TIN (18) you can pronounce that in english.. Sb19 said in an interview.. they had this brainstorming on what name should they call to their fans.. the boys are fond of wordplaying.. they said we cant reach the number 19 without getting through number 18.. so there will be no sb19 without A'TIN(18) .. and it can also pronounced that in tagalog.. A'TIN.. it translate to OURS in english..everything they've achieved so far are OURS.. For everyone..
MAHALIMA is a term made by A'TIN itself.. it composed of two tagalog words.. MAHAL + LIMA
MAHAL- LOVE
LIMA- FIVE.. this is the term for those who are OT5.. their bias was the five of them.. but acty those who stan SB19 is basically MAHALIMA.. 😅
SLMT.. abbrv. for SaLaMaT.. THANK YOU in english.. if you noticed theres no "A" in that word because you are the "A" that stands for A(tin).. this song is a tribute to all the fans who love them..

Here some info about SB19..
The number 19 had derived from the addition of country codes of South Korea (82) =10
and the Philippines (63) =9
10+9=(19)
It symbolized the collaboration of the two countries in the formation of the group. SB19 is a Filipino idol group trained and managed by a Korean company. Using their talents and skills, which are further enhanced by their Korean idol-style training, they work toward their goal of promoting Filipino music to the world.
And about 18 is this...18 in Pilipino word is "ATIN" (bcame the name of fandom) & in english is OURS. & the letter SB in SB19 comes from their company name ShowBT.

I like the sound of the song. Sounds very organic. There‘s a percussion instrument in the Philippines made of bamboo and it sounds like that. Anyway Mahalima is a combination of the words „mahal“ meaning love or loving and „lima“ meaning five. So it was actually coined for people who loved each member equally, i.e. someone with no „bias“. Go on and do a reaction to their interviews on their struggles. One was on Kwentojuan: The struggle in the Hustle. This is a really comprehensive interview, somewhat long but very interesting (not boring at all). The other was by Celestine Gonzaga-Soriano (Toni Gonzaga). This is the most recent interview on their arduous journey.

This is my favorite song from the ep.
This song has inside jokes from the fandom like hopia and mahalima (love the five). Its a song about how SB19 loves their fans and recognizes that without A'tin there is no SB19.
The best line for me in the song was mahalima then mahal ka ng lima ( love the five, the five love you).

It's a combination of the words "mahal" (love), "halina" (amaze), and "lima" (five) and is used to refer to all five members of SB19, as they are five people whom we love and are amazed by. The term became extremely popular overnight that the next day even news articles were using this term! It's so heartwarming to see SB19 use this in one of their songs. The person who coined the word must feel so honored.

When I first listened to the song, I was so happy. I didn't cry, like others did. But while watching your RV, I can't stop crying. Especially, when you mentioned that you like Justin's voice, he is my bias. His voice was less appreciated before. He had this story where he auditioned, and the judge stop him as he sing. And said that he's not that good at singing, it really broke my heart. That's why, we're happy when someone appreciates his voice. He really work hard to improve his singing skills. And seeing someone that says Justin's voice had an impact to you, it really means a lot.
"Mahalima" was created by A'tin (SB19 fandom) to show their love to the five of them. Mahal = love and Lima = five....so basically what the lyrics says is that they reciprocate the love they received from their fans.

Know this isn’t the official but I see you’re starved for the lyrics. Pretty sure they’re saving this for the concert because you know, it’s for us. 💙

I think those beats in the beginning are our traditional kulintang, a series of brass gongs. They’re really cool but difficult to play!
