- In commemoration of Dog Pride Day in Montecatini Terme, Italy, on Sunday, May 28, 2017, Valentina Poddighe and Daniel Parra created this video about Mayor Max, the elected Golden Retriever Mayor of Idyllwild, California.
Max (Maximus Mighty-Dog Mueller) was voted into office during an election held on June 11, 12, and 13, 2012 in Idyllwild, and was inaugurated to a one-year term on July 1, 2012. Read the whole story at www.mayormax.com.

No need to worry about this! Human politicians only pertain to incorporated cities. Any town can incorporate. Many towns smaller than Idyllwild have incorporated (then, by definition, are called cities). The people of Idyllwild have chosen--for decades--to keep life simple and have chosen not to incorporate. We love you!
