    They're more than just fast, they're works of art. From my years of racing I always tell people, if you like cars, go to the track. Not only do you get to wander around and see tons of show quality vehicles, but you get to watch them throw thousands of horsepower down on the track. It's better than most car shows, and shops like yours make it all happen. Love the content, keep it coming.

    Awesome work! When closing tubes on a chassis update, I've had to drill tubes I was joining, with a 3/32" - 1/8" bit . I did that to relieve some shielding gas pressure build-up. Do you do something similar, or do you practice something different? Anyway, your work looks impeccable!

    Keep up the positive videos. Couple questions. Who manufactures the rear housing? Do you think a fuel bladder type cell would help prevent the frontal damage, explosions and fire like we have seen lately? Very nice videos guys

    • @CJRaceCars
      @CJRaceCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a Carmack Engineering rear end. Not sure if fuel bladders would help or not with the force they hit the wall some times. But something to consider

    • @troy-from-cjrc
      @troy-from-cjrc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since I have experience with bladder style fuel cells I'd have to say that cost and manufacture time would make them a deal breaker for most drag racers. The types of cars that require them are carrying 10, 15, or even 20 gallons of fuel, so keeping the fuel in the cell is a big deal. These fuel cells come in standard configurations designed to be installed in the rear of the car and are not only huge, they are very expensive. These types of drag cars will carry 3-4 gallons max, so you're looking at a much smaller mess (fire) if some gets out. Bladder style fuel cells are usually available in standard sizes and designs for their intended purpose where drag cars will usually have a custom cell built to fit in a tighter spot in the front of the car. To have a bladder custom built would be extremely expensive, and could take as much as 6-7 months to have done. They also require certification and will have to be re-certified/replaced every few years. Most of the fires you see at the dragstrip are a result of an engine failure causing engine oil to be liberated from the crankcase onto glowing header tubes which then ignite into a ball of flames. I'm not saying there isn't fuel fires, fuel lines fail, the car can nose into the wall causing a rupture,etc. I'm just saying a bladder fuel cell wouldn't be a huge safety advantage considering the cost and the difficulty in manufacturing a custom bladder for every custom fuel cell. Besides, we're drag racers, we'll die like men! (that's a joke) lol

    Hey man love learning about your builds! My whole family have bikes and trucks. I’m looking for advice to break out into fabricating custom cages/ cars like you do. Long story short 5years ago I gave up a great career in business to persue some thing I really enjoyed. Started out welding and now I’m a steel fabricator. I build railings and monumental staircases for a living but I’m not satisfied with where I’m at now. I was lucky enough to learn start to finish how to fabricate rails before my company invested in a large amount of machinery. Cars, trucks and motorcycles have always been a passion of mine. I’ve applied to a couple of shops around the Baltimore area but haven’t had luck. Literally the only thing I can think of is starting out on my 01 Cummings and Fabing a custom bumper, track bars etc. At least then they see I’m ready to go full throttle with this stuff and learn this side of the trade. Any advice helps man. Appreciate it!!

    New school, old school, don't care, Danny school is where it's at. Take it from me Danny's work is as good as it's possible to get. I'm somewhat worried that there hasn't been any updates from CJ for a long time, even though Cameron said an update every week. hopefully they're all good and a vid will drop soon.

    Is it difficult to get the wheel base right on the procharger cars with only having the one spot to place the rack?

    • @CJRaceCars
      @CJRaceCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. Just makes for a weird tie rod angle some times. Some of the longer wheel base cars are backwards

    if someone wanted to learn how to do stuff like this what would u suggest? also for sfi books is there one book to buy for all the different kind of cages?

    • @CJRaceCars
      @CJRaceCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a book for each spec. If you want to learn beat bet is just get your foot in the door at a local shop doing anything you can do and ask questions and practice when off the clock maybe. Also looking at pics and watching videos will help get a basic explanation of what’s going on.

    What centers do you usually build your cars rear end to? Looks like 20 inches

  • @raymondguzman1907
    @raymondguzman1907 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What's your theory on 4 link bar lengths? You said you guys run 21" some run them shorter and some longer. Is there any advantages one vs the other? Is 21 your standard for pretty much all of them or is it depending on other factors like wheelbase length?

    • @CJRaceCars
      @CJRaceCars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah we run 21” on pretty much everything. The longer the bar the softer the 4 link adjustment is per move. If the bar was short and you moved it down a 1/2” on the front it would be a drastic instant center move. 21” is about the longest you can usually go with where the crossmember is located in most cars.
