Your take on Portugal is perfect. nobody rates Fernando Santos at this point, we are greatful but now we have way more quality and we need attacking football. We even thought we'd miss the WC and Fernando Santos would be sacked.
He's definitely more suited to setting up his team in a solid defensive shape. In the Euros he tried to be expansive vs Germany and it costed him the loss. Vs Serbia he tried to be defensive after early pressure and the lead and then Rui Patricio made the mistake for the equalizer. But I also feel he's not afraid of making really bold decisions. Like dropping Rui Patricio for Porto's Diego Costa or including Otavio in the starting line up vs Turkey and Macedonia. He's done decently in the Nations League and I think Portugal are playing a little more fluidly as of late
Ecuador has had to fight thru Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia… their qualifying was so much more difficult than the others in their group I bet they’ll win the group.

So did Peru and Argentina in 2018. Argentina barely made it through to the R16 and Peru didn't. Ecuador's main strength is their home ground. Their away record in WCQ was 2 wins, 2 draws, and 6 losses. They have pretty good players in important positions like Caicedo, Hincapie, Chala, Estupinan, Plata, and Mena, but they're also pretty inexperienced. They don't have a striker who's banging the goals in, so I think they will falter against the better Senegal and Netherlands, who both also have experience leading a team at a world cup.

it's a winter WC. So as opposed to Summer, teams will come without the 6 weeks of preparation. Teams with a natural game identity usually are able deliver even with a bad shape, like Brazil spain or Croatia imo. For the other favorites, it will depend if they get lucky with the shapes. The problem is that the WC comes just after autumn which is the most important period of the season for all mid-range to top clubs. There is no turnover and the chance of injury all the key players is high. While in April-june, there's a lot of turnover.
Qatar might not be "carried" by officials past the group stages, Qatar's grown football-wise i.e having coaches like xavi in one of the clubs has helped sharpen a good football generation.I don't think it'll be a matter of officials but rather their own willpower to perform on homesoil

The problem with World Cup predicting is you assume the best side will always but it never turns out that way. As soon as one underdog wins one group game it changes the shape of the whole tournament. If Brazil slip up in the groups they could draw Belgium in the quarter finals. I'd say Brazil is a good bet, they have the strongest squad on paper, tactically I'm not convinced they're on the same level with the top European sides. I'm gonna go for France. I just think they have the capacity to get far without playing well and if they get to the semis no one can compete with their major tournament pedigree.
My gut says that Spain will win it. I am so impressed by how good they were on the Euros. Only problem they have is the lack of a consistent striker. They need to hope Morata gets in form or Gerard Moreno isnt injured. Germany and Argentina are my other favorites. At least I hope Qatar doesnt make it far (that its not rigged) and that we dont get two defensive/boring teams in the final in the form of England and Portugal under Southgate and Santos.

Not unpopular at all, Spain has a top 3 talent pool in the world. 2022 is 100% possible but our chances will be greater in 2026, 2030, and 2034. We have an insane amount of top tier and talent from 1999-2008. This is the best generation of Spaniards since our 2010 squad.

My personal opinions here: 1) this is the first world cup prediction that makes sense and I can back. A lot of the others don't seem to consider the fact that the World Cup always produces surprises. 2) France will break their curse but Denmark will finish above them. You believe Ghana will finish last in its group but I can and I can promise you that Ghana will definitely go past the group stages. And look at how we played against Uruguay in the World Cup. Looks like you’ve forgotten the whole Suarez show. Even how Ghana was able to qualify for the World Cup after the two leg encounter with the supposedly strong Nigerian team. This was just after Ghana had embarrassingly been whisked out of the African Cup of Nations. Nigeria was and is still in top form now. You have underestimated teams that have great potential to advance to the round of 16, such as Japan and South Korea. Japan has a young team and many of its players play in Europe. South Korea has Son in attack, one of the best scorer in the Premiere league last year, and Kim Min Jae who is a wall in the defense of Napoli in Italian Serie A and has already scored 3 goals in 10 games

it's a winter WC. So as opposed to Summer, teams will come without the 6 weeks of preparation. Teams with a natural game identity usually are able deliver even with a bad shape, like Brazil spain or Croatia imo. For the other favorites, it will depend if they get lucky with the shapes. The problem is that the WC comes just after autumn which is the most important period of the season for all mid-range to top clubs. There is no turnover and the chance of injury all the key players is high.

seriously underrating the Netherlands, but hey, we'll see who's right in December. People here actually have faith in the national team for the first time since 2012. I can't see us going out before the quarter final and I genuinely think we have a chance to make it to the semi's/final and maybe even win it(I mean if we reach the final again, only to lose it, that would be 4 attempts and 4 losses, it can happen but I really hope it doesn't).

The problem with World Cup predicting is you assume the best side will always but it never turns out that way. As soon as one underdog wins one group game it changes the shape of the whole tournament. If Brazil slip up in the groups they could draw Belgium in the quarter finals. I'd say Brazil is a good bet, they have the strongest squad on paper, tactically I'm not convinced they're on the same level with the top European sides. I'm gonna go for France. I just think they have the capacity to get far without playing well and if they get to the semis no one can compete with their major tournament pedigree.

My gut says that Spain will win it. I am so impressed by how good they were on the Euros. Only problem they have is the lack of a consistent striker. They need to hope Morata gets in form or Gerard Moreno isnt injured. Germany and Argentina are my other favorites. At least I hope Qatar doesnt make it far (that its not rigged) and that we dont get two defensive/boring teams in the final in the form of England and Portugal under Southgate and Santos.

Not unpopular at all, Spain has a top 3 talent pool in the world. 2022 is 100% possible but our chances will be greater in 2026, 2030, and 2034. We have an insane amount of top tier and talent from 1999-2008. This is the best generation of Spaniards since our 2010 squad.

My personal opinions here:
1) this is the first world cup prediction that makes sense and I can back. A lot of the others don't seem to consider the fact that the World Cup always produces surprises.
2) France will break their curse but Denmark will finish above them. They are gonna be explode in Qatar
3) England will top their group but it won't be as clear as everyone thinks. They will at least draw/lose a match against one of the other three
4) There will be an unexpected team in the quarters (a team no one expected to make it out of their group)
