I will sure try this! I first had French Onion soup on my 12th birthday in 1978, at a local, but long-gone restaurant, and loved it. Thanks to you, I know how to make it. It looks the same. I'm confident I can do it with your instructions, and it looks great!
I’ve never attempted French onion soup and after scouring the internet, I decided I would use your recipe because every last recipe of yours has always come out fabulous. This one was no different! My only qualm is that I wish I would have tried this sooner. I don’t always write comments to show my appreciation but I truly am grateful to you for sharing your recipes that make even my cooking taste great.
This has been something I've been wanting to try making. You do a great presentation and are also so relaxing to watch. You truly made it it look so simple and enjoyable. i enjoy your take on other Recipes and I particularly appreciated this one. Can't wait to try making the Soup! 😋 ☺🙋
I have always wanted to try making this because it is one of my favorite meals....you do such a good job at explaining everything and your presentation is amazing!!!
We used to order this when we went to fancy restaurants with my Mom when we were kids. The gooey cheese and crispy bread was so good. It brings back such fond memories. I lost my Mom to an aggressive cancer 10 years ago but I am going to make this and reminisce. Thank you for this! 🥰
Hi. First of all, love your show/videos. Learning to cook at home from scratch has been a Godsend during this pandemic. I watched your “Tell All” video from a couple years back and in it you mention a recipe book club. Is the book club still going strong and if so, how can I join? If not, how can I get my hands on your latest recipe book? Also, if you haven’t already, can you do a video on gumbo? Thanks.
Request : please teach us different kinds of soft bread-like crust pizzas that can be frozen and stored for 3 months. And then we can eat within (30 mins of taking out from freezer)!! Also croissants. And deep dish pizzaaaaa 💕💕💕💕💕 thank you ma’am
So I signed up for your notifications on my phone a while back, and today my phone was in pocket and i was talking to my family. We were talking about how great your pot roast was and I said the name of the recipe and your site, When we stop talking I open my phone and I get a notification from your website, guess what recipe your SUNDAY POT ROAST😱 I was sooo creeped out, either google was listening or the universe wants me to make it again🤷♂️
Don’t worry, we send those out manually ourselves to hundreds of thousands of people. I pick which recipes goes out which day about a month in advance. It’s pure coincidence, but a happy one!
Sherry is the 6th ingredient. brown sugar, Worcestershire , and cayenne are not traditional ingredients in French Onion Soup, but I'm sure they'd be a delicious variation!
@@Thestayathomechef I was being totally facetious. However I used to hang out in may marvellous French provinces for decades where every chef took pride in adding a bit of spice here and there. Just how many different kinds of Gruyere can you name? I did not even get to the beast-bodied red wines from those regions. OMG. Now I bet you want to post a second video, and with my blessings. Loved the first one.
Or I'm a grown ass woman who doesn't really care what strangers think. If you want to think my face looks stupid, then think that. It doesn't make a difference to me. But I'd be willing to bet that you'd live a much more satisfying life if you dropped the asshole part of your personality.
Have a beautiful weekend to everyone who reads🥰❤
you too! :)

Looks great! What kind of beef broth did you use? I am not sure what brands are considered high quality beef broth. Thanks!

Where do u post ur recipes?
Never mind... just found it! Sorry!
Very nice rach missed seeing you but I’m back
What could you use instead of beef broth if can't have it.
Maybe chicken broth?
It depends on why you can't have beef broth. You could use chicken broth, vegetable broth, or mushroom broth, it'd just be a different flavor.

What? No sherry? No brown sugar? No Worstershire? How about a dab of cayenne? But you are still killing it!

Parmesan? NO
Stay calm. It's a make it yourself situation. You can leave the parmesan off of yours.
