- The Orlando Magic made their first signing in free agency by bringing in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in on a three year $66 million dollar contract. It's pretty clear that the Magic see Suggs as the starting PG. I think he earned that role with his 3PG%, second team all defense, leadership and overall improvement. Do not forget he was the top rated PG in the country as a senior in HS. In a recent interview Paolo spoke about the future and said they needed to build around him, Franz and JS. I think 1-4 are all locked in now. I see WCJ, Isaac and hopefully Moe (team friendly deal) contributing at the five barring other moves.
Like the signing but we definitely need a aggressive rebounder and more of a traditional point guard
I cannot WAIT to see KCP & Suggs begin their reign of domination on that court this season!!!

We got our guy!!!! I really wanted Paul George as a mentor to Paolo, but as a player, I wanted KCP so much more.
What I mean is, due to George's inconsistency to be healthy, I would rather have KCP.
That and he's just a bit younger.

I still think Tyus Jones would be a great fit. We need to cut down our turnovers. Less turnovers = better defensive outcomes. That negates his defensive shortcomings.

He is a better Gary Harris, and okays ay better defense. I like the move, the magic arent done yet we need a center and another guard. We definitely grabbing another Guard. We have 28/30 million left to spend
Why did they go away from Goga last year after he was playing so well for them?
@@johnb7053 I feel you!!! I loved having Goga, he did his job, played defense, blocked shots, and cleaned up the glass. Seeing Goga play well for this team, let me know that tyoe of architype can play well for this team. So we should get a natural shot blocker and glass cleaner. But to your point Wendell had the bigger contract and proabably was pressured into the starting line up
@@davidcarlos4350 I know he’s not as versatile as Carter and Mo but it seemed like he was phased out completely and I couldn’t find anything online about why, to me he’s a necessity if Wendell gets hurt which he does a lot Goga already proved he can step in and keep things rolling, Mo is best served as the energy guy off the bench, but neither are signed right now hopefully this doesn’t become a problem

Goga was a good center hell he was doing a better job of being a center than Wendell Carter Jr
I'm sure KCP will make the Magic a better team, but 66 million for 10ppg is crazy.
I get it but he was the starting SG on 2 NBA championship squads. His value is worth the $ considering there are players getting paid significantly more yet providing much less than KCP

This signing alone can catapult the magic deep into the playoff with the chance of winning it; However Tristan De Silva will also play a good role coming off the bench.

So much for klay Thompson coming to the magic ive realized that when they're is videos of a player coming to Orlando its actually not true i mean they literally made so many videos of klay coming here but i had a feeling he wasn't going to sign with us the hype wasn't real also they really should trade or sign other players because KCP isnt the answer to our problems we need to actually surround Paolo and franz with help because out of those two besides jalen suggs we need more talent

Paul George hasn’t won shit so happy we didn’t drop money on him. KCP is a great FA pick and fit for us. Perfect fit. We need to resign Mo Wagner since Hartenstien got picked up by OKC. We need one more shooter and we’re good.

On the defensive end, I don’t believe so…also Harris doesn’t bring the leadership & clutch pedigree KCP offers, a guy who knows what it takes to win in this league.

MAGIC should have gone after Mark Edey. Magic need a rebounder and rim protector. In the first half of a playoff game against Cleveland last year, Cleveland scored 40 of 46 points in the paint.Edey stops ALL that.

The Magic need scoring help and they go signed a player that can’t score? Banchero said he need an offensive player to bring the ball up take pressure off him. KCP is not that player he is a slightly better version of Garry Harris this is a dumb signed. The Magic FO management failed to get Banchero the help that he needed as a day1 Magic fan I don’t blame him if he leave

Klay isn’t worth the money imo. He’s an aging player who’s already shown he’s on the decline, and his days as a star are likely behind him. I like signing KCP because not only does it give us a good shooter and defender, it also allows us flexibility to sign another player such as IHart.

Agreed Klay would of brought a lot of buzz only to be mostly a disappointment who costs a lot more, while everyone is talking about the Knicks and Philly I think Magic are the team Celtics need to watch out for

Another thing to mention he's not worth $66 million dollars more $10 or $20 or $30 Million and he shouldn't have a 3 year deal maybe like a 1 year deal let's not forget he's actually an inconsistent 3-point shooter listen I'm sorry but this was a bad signing we need players who are going to make us better not keep us at the same level this was an awful signing

This was a terrible signing I don't understand why we are afraid to get actual talent instead we decide to get garbage on our team we never try to get players that can actually help us get to the next level what is this guy going to do for us it's not like we got any better
KCP will make this team better and will allow Orlando to keep their core together. There is no way you could have signed PG for as much as he wanted, given Franz a max or near max deal, Paolo a max deal, and sign Suggs to a big extension. Not with the new CBA. So it was either PG or the young core. I rather keep our guys.
Horrible take. KCP is one of the best 3&D players in the league and has won multiple times. You’re getting basically the best upgrade for Harris and Ingles. C’mon now guy
@@Wetheohyou are right he is an upgrade from Gary garbage Harris but still he needs to prove himself I've watched this guy play and he didn't do so well with the Lakers or any other team but he did do ok with the nuggets
