I’ve seen it not just in SADC but in many parts of the world, everytime liberation movement gain power they then become more like the former regimes
I am thinking of Communist Party in the USSR under Stalin, you could barely see the difference between CP and Tsarist regime, I mean there was a difference but the people were still oppressed

Zimbabwe's ZanuPf is a different monster in the house.Zimbabweans have voted overwhelmingly against them on many occasions but results have been manipulated brazenly with no impunity at all.Liberation movements will go in these countries but that monster will stay-why-because they made it a priority that they conduct elections themselves under the banner of ZEC.They have captured all State institutions including the courts so that all disgruntled politicians approaching them will hit a hard rock.We congratulate these democracies that value the voice of their people. We cherish that as Zimbabweans.Weldone Batswana. You are a true democracy.

Of which in most part there’s nothing wrong about that
There’s nothing wrong about wanting to government forever as a party, because if you have economical development plans you don’t want to implement it and then in 5 years time someone else comes and change or reverse what you were starting. Think about Singapore if they had an opposition perhaps it could’ve been difficult to get to where they are
But ke in the case of SADC countries and especially ZANU PF it’s wrong since they don’t seem to be interested about developing their economies

The BDP is not a liberation party because Botswana was never colonized. In the late 1800s, the Boers wanted to make Botswana part of SA, so 3 Botswana chiefs approached Britain for protection. The Brits agreed and in 1966 Botswana requested independence and it was granted.

Fact is post WW2 the British were handing over all the colonies which they couldn’t afford to keep or had little extraction value…Malawi & Zambia included. Universities need to be interconnected with local businesses to host recruitment fairs/job fairs for young people to be employed. The liberated parties can start there. We get degrees and can't do anything with it, that's why we all swarm overseas for opportunities. This is a great video.

@@suzannejansevanrensburg4057 I studied in the US as well for undergrad, I was admitted to and graduated from Princeton after finishing matric here at home. Then masters at UCT.
The university career fairs and career oriented opportunities/clubs at both universities were pretty similar. The difference is in networking and connections. People that study overseas, especially at ivy leagues, tend to already have connections and wealthy backgrounds so it is easier for them to get jobs because they already know or are related to people in companies. Many classmates I went to Princeton with did their own tech startups as well, or inherited family businesses.
South African universities don't have the same gatekeeping/elitism or separation of education by social class. So too many people graduate and there isn't enough demand for all those people in the workforce.
