MB is a lovely tractor restored it would be fantastic Case is a nice tractor but the only one for me is the 4955 and a 7710 beside it well now your talking OLLY thanks for another great video
How you don’t win awards for farm diversification I don’t know Olly. The number of different revenue streams your farm has and the simple solutions you’ve used for things like grain drying etc are amazing. It’s so simple on the face of it but to think at some point someone thought ‘we’ll take tree waste (already fixing a problem for tree surgeons) , chip it, use the chips as fuel to heat the farm and the grain dryer, and we’ll sell anything we don’t use, oh and we’ll do it cleanly and efficiently’ Way ahead of your time. You’ve already got the heating system for your new museum shed too, the saying hard work easy life comes to mind. Working on your farm must be an absolute pleasure with how ‘easy’ some of the day to day stuff has been made to work when compared with other farms.
Hiya Olly, the bonnet latch is on the left of the tractor as you look at it face on. Its a lever, located under the side pannel near the cab. And on the speed, you have high and low range labled backwards as I understand it. As far as ik thats the formation for a 1255. High range is with the range lever toward the rear of the tractor.
the heat gun trick works with plastic as warming the plastic up brings the oils back to the surface again restoring the colour (works well on black car bumpers). fibreglass is normally finished with a gelcoat surface, you might be able to sand and polish it back up again. like you could with the paint on the top edge of the bonnet where it looks on camera to have faded, if you sand it with P1200 or anything above then polish up with compound and you can remove any dead paint bringing back the original colour again. if you would like some better info im happy to email or message you in more detail
Excellent video Olly - that clutch / system in the Case 1455 is fantastic, thanks for your explanation! Great idea about your collection of classic tractors / museum, it is certainly a sensible investment. Honesty is part of your character Olly - it’s a very good trait to have and long may it continue in and throughout your brilliant videos.
hi olly yes there should be a lever just at bottom of right hand engine panel ,cab end .i have a 1455 to, got mine from crawfords about 8 years ago pulls like train ,160 hp on shaft.
That heat trick works on certain plastics by bringing the oils to the surface. Never heard it used on fiberglass, I was worried when I saw that torch!! You’ll be able to compound polish all that up and they should come pretty close. Used to love driving a 1255 with that fluid clutch! Look forward to the mb trac refurb I nearly went mb before I hit the Fastrac, used to drive them too. Great machines!
Went to a local pub that had a tractor show today so I took the 716 was a good day. So we’re going to try and get a dyno day organised. Kids had fun too. 100%

A Quadtrack would suit the line up more than another John Deere in my opinion. Hope your friend is recovering well after the operation. Great video thanks for the upload
Never had any interest in tractors whatsoever until I found your channel - now I so want one of those MB things!! Don't think the missus would approve of it as a daily driver though!! 😁
You could build the “museum building” in the fields by the sunflowers so there is more things to do there may encourage more people to go (in the summer that it is)
You need a cultivator with seed box on the back of the cropmaster between the rows to sow clover, nice classics lined up, the mb the best, 95%. Keep the videos coming your be able get a v form and a quadtrac together. Be nice see them do some work.
We had 885’s, 956’s and 1056’s back in the day, and they were really good workhorses, biggest drawback was that you couldn’t alter the steering wheel position like you could in the John Deeres that we also ran! A heat gun works on faded black plastic trims, not sure whether it will on paintwork though 🤔
Once you have got hte MB and the 1455 in fine fettle, it will be interesting to see what they can pull compared to their modern generation counterparts. There seem to be enough farmers holding on to older, less computorised and ad-blue'd tractors to suggest the allure of high tech on low cost finanace packages might not be all that it is cracked up to be. Also, do more comments still drive more youtube income (always used to) so encouraging as much commenting as possible will get more income to fund the quadtrac - I want to see you really build a collection of unusual tractors, of which the MB starts the journey!
The leaver for bonnet is buy fuel filler should be pocking out under side panel with a round knob on end make sure you take exhaust off first before you flip it up and and don't let it go or it will drop with a bang and could break front cowling 👍 great vid
100% today as it’s my birthday and I got a really nice surprise, my two year old Granddaughter Alice came to stay last night so that made it my best ever birthday and she helped me open everything. You’ll be needing to build a new shed for all of those classic tractors.
Love the update on the 14 👍 There is a handle below the right hand side panel, towards the back, it moves backwards to release the bonnet catches, then the bonnet will lift up forwards & stand up, lift the exhaust off first. The side panels then lift off upwards, when the bonnet is down it sits against them & stops them jumping off upwards. Had a big Sunday dinner today, so 100%. 😋
Brilliant video Olly, laughing when you lit the torch. Maybe should’ve used an electric heat gun though. Nice to see someone open and honest about their TH-cam income 👌👍

Bonnet catch/release lever under right hand engine side panel , then top bonnet folds forward and sides life off. ( or it was on our one.! Hope this helps) cheers 👍
The true colour of the bonnet is where the stickers were. Tcut the sun faded bonnet and it should get closer to matching the nose. Probably will need to do the mudguards and cab once you've done the bonnet, to get a good overall effect. Keep these vids coming but don't let them take over yr life... 😉
Lovin’ the vlogs Olly 👍🏼 I know feck all about farming, well, I didn’t before I started watching you and Clarkson 😝 I have to say that the equipment is what really floats my boat. I love seeing the classics. Your idea of a museum is great - but I’m sure that’s quite a bit down the road. In the meantime I look forward to seeing what you buy and learning more about farm machinery. 😃
That nose has been replaced and painted post office red. Sparex should be able to supply the correct colour....flip side of that means you'll need to polish the rest of the bonnet....then cab...then fenders......
Cheers for the birthday shoutout on saturday , will there be room in your tractor collection for a COUNTY, or a fordson major , these are the tracorsi grew up with on the farm , stay safe
Olly, What age is your 1455XL as early ones didn't have the splitter and did only have 30k boxes in them I think. Also if it's an early one should it not be cream and red?? If there is a splitter it would I think be a lever beside the seat poss on right had side looking like a handbrake lever. Well, that's what the 1056xl was like. Also, watch up around the sunroof as they used to leak really bad and then ruin all the headlining etc. ignore the early question as I see it's not got the beige/sand colour interior. Lower panels should just pull off, then offside of the bonnet somewhere near the exhaust should be a lever you pull back then tip the bonnet forwards once exhaust removed.
For the bonnet of the 1455 you have to take the exhaust off I'm pretty sure, lovely lineup, very jealous but hard work pays off. Heat works best for faded black plastics like car trims etc
On the right side of the tractor at the front of the bell housing there should be a lever just underneath the line of the side panel you need to pull it to unlatch the top of the bonnet. The exhaust needs to be off first before you can tilt it up
A good tip for you, when using the new glass scrapper on the window, spray the glass with soapy water first, will help you to not scratch the glass from the blade and help the blade to glide on the glass
To take off the bonnet you have to take off the exhaust, then lift up the side panels at side (the sit on little brackets) after you have taken the side panels off the bonnet release level is easy visible. (Pretty much a 2 person job to take the side panels off) hope this helps.
@@bufferbridge Didn't realize, the 1255 that I use we always have to or just take off the side panels off to get to the bonnet. (Also you can get to pretty much everything with only taking 1 side panel off rather than the bonnet)
