In his old age he was the strongest of the reigning Kage - according to Kabuto. They did Hirzuen dirty tbh by not showing off his full potential.
Ima be honest, this battle was pretty trash. Noone did anything special. Some taijutsu, water dragon, darkness jutsu, and deep forest emergence isn't really jaw dropping
@@shroud4269 Well this was back in the day when naruto was about ninjas and most of what we had seen up to this point WAS Taijutsu, simple Ninjutsu, and Kunai fights. So yeah to alot of people this was an impressive fight. Also Hiruzen was way past his prime and the two other kages were weakened significantly as we know Edo Tensei wont bring people back at their full strength and Orochimaru was kind of a novice with it back then. But I agree seeing seeing how Kages fight EoS vs this fight it is a little underwhelming to look back at, but you can say the same thing for early Kakashi fights as well.

Fact. A lot of detail that would only reveal itself later on. Storytelling at its finest, it’s about the whole, not the slice that is in front of you atm.
Orichimaru is soo good at what he does at least in naruto. He portrays the villain character so well here betraying his sensei and the whole village with no sense of guilt at all.

Im happy I found this. Hiruzen was always a character I enjoyed simply due to how entertaining this fight was which is a shame no one talks about it. It was one of the few fights that was balanced in power and tactics. Also bravo to the edit.
Honestly stands as best Naruto fight for me this, the purity of it and uniqueness. Absolutely favourite fight and his fear at the prospect of Fourth being resurrected is so epic, Rock Lee fight with Gaara then follows as my second favourite.
