its little nuggets like this within kid a, amnesiac, ok computer and all the b-sides around that time that really make you contemplate extra terrestrials
this moment between optimistic and in limbo is the zenith of radiohead for me. i remember hearing this the first time and feeling like I was in space. its like they build all their sounds and textures from some future access point during ok computer, kid a, and amnesiac. nigel guided them all along this thread and thom and johnny just grabbed these ethereal riffs from the exosystem, ed built these extra terrestrial textures, colin tuned into some low frequency transmission and phil relayed all of it through some polyrythmic time signature based code. but during this little outro youre transported to a little outlook on a colony sipping java between brightness and infinite void
Its weird how this 11 seconds of music is one of the best things Radiohead have produced.
that's pretty insulting to their career.
Do you still believe what you said three years later
@@Chillbird235 Kind of
I feel like this part alone could've been built into a really good song
Sounds like a beat questlove or maybe madlib would make
ToLWaM sounds like a loop some indigo irradiated ubermensch would make while on a space freight to andromeda
Even after 5 whole minutes of nodding my head frantically, when it ended i was like "what, already??"
You can hear the DJ Shadow influence here.

I think it’s the contrast between this and the rest of optimistic that make it so great
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS. This is literally my favorite moment off Kid A, which is my favorite RH record. I can never get tired of this. So hip-hopish
Boom bap type
