Sweet video!!! The Blight if it had more room to move around could of even kited with the dash action and attacked every other round insuring a default kill exactly why putting them in a confined space really shows the importance of keeping your distance in dnd Zombie: Slam +3 to hit vs 12 AC 60% chance to hit (4.5x0.60)=2.7 Critical (3.5x0.05)=0.17 Total DPR=2.87 Four rounds to kill Needle Blight: Needles +3 to hit vs 8 AC 80% chance to hit (8x.80)=6.4 Critical (7x0.05)=0.35 Total DPR=6.75 Four rounds to kill Average DC for con save is 12 55% chance for zombie to drop to 1 hp
Yeah, for sure. Neither of these monsters are the smartest or most combat savvy in the world. When I do these battles, I do take into account all stats, and in this case the Needle Blight was unlikely to make any strategic manoeuvres due to its low INT score, with its base instinct telling it to do damage, and not get hit. Same with the Zombie.
Here the zombie actually failed his fortitude which was a blissful sigh of relief for the needleblight. However in my friends campaign, we were exploring an old mansion before being set upon by its zombie guards- and one of them just consistently dropped to 1 around 6 times in a row X__x
Honestly, I’ve seen some almost immortal Zombies knocking around before… we had a few nearly TPK a lower level party, they just kept getting back up! This Needle Blight gave the people what they wanted to see for sure 😂
I can't quite remember why it didn't for this combat, but usually I run creatures factoring in things like wisdom and intelligence, so it may have been that the twig blight didn't feel the need as it had the upper hand already!
Just a question, are all of these matches randomized? Like the choice of needle blight VS zombie was a decision o you rolled randomly on the creatures?
I started off with a pre-selected pool of creatures and then ‘drew names from a hat’ to see which was going to battle which at the start. I knew what the potential match ups could be, and then went from there. The only exception was Bugbear vs Brown Bear which I thought would just make a cool battle. When we roll over into the next CR bracket, I’ll do a video, or maybe a live, drawing the combatants against each other so everyone can see the order from the get go.

Zombie:
Slam +3 to hit vs 12 AC
60% chance to hit
(4.5x0.60)=2.7
Critical (3.5x0.05)=0.17
Total DPR=2.87
Four rounds to kill
Needle Blight:
Needles +3 to hit vs 8 AC
80% chance to hit
(8x.80)=6.4
Critical (7x0.05)=0.35
Total DPR=6.75
Four rounds to kill
Average DC for con save is 12 55% chance for zombie to drop to 1 hp
Great break down as always!
And you're absolutely right, keeping the combat enclosed within the arena really changes the battle dynamic!
It has 8 in WIS and 4 in INT though
Yeah, for sure.

Same with the Zombie.
Plants vs Zombies went dark
Pitch black action
I'm just watching this to see who gets obliterated by my wolf. #teamwolf
Team Wolf has got some solid support, expecting some big, bad things!

LET'S GO NEEDLE BLIGHT
I have seen so many cases of zombies dragging fights because of their undead fortitude I have grown sick of it
Haha, the Needle Blight came to this fight with business in mind 😂 No time for Zombie shenanigans!
Needle Blight is such a cool monster I gotta root for it!
Wait... we can back team Cockatrice? O.o
This dudes gonna fight wolves and giant rats? ô¿ô
...
Sign me up
You most certainly can… I mean it could always miss its bite attack? 😅
nice nice, love these death battle videos, hope you make more!
I see you’ve been checking some more out, glad you’re enjoying the series! 😄
why would the blight not have taken the dash action?
