  • 60298 this is the Pittsburgh automotive windshield glass removal tool. With coupon it's only ten bucks but it has a pretty weak blade and really only works on weak adhesive or if you use a heat gun to preheat and soften. Otherwise it looks like a pretty nice tool it can be modified to accept thicker more professional blades. . .

I was going to replace a windshield a few years ago and a professional glass company came directly to the house, removed broken windshield and installed the new one for less money than I could have bought the windshield for. Appreciate the video.

Wow this was an awesome video. Well worded and really helpful tips, I can tell you've done decent research on this tool. Thanks so much for compiling this, and giving the demo on pulling the blade the other way. Nice clean setup, and no filler content. This is the kind of content TH-cam was born from. Thanks so much, instant subscribe from me.

Broke a windshield first and only time I tried that tool. Looked legit but too difficult to control small blade, especially around corners! Thanks for your reviews

Wonder if their Laguna # 57516 is any better, the blade looks sharper.

Okay so the tool is call a cold knife and thats probably a piss poor example on one to touch off on one. But nevertheless its a tool where when you are pulling on a normal day you are using no small degree of your shoulder muscles and weight too pull it. Generally you'll be switching blades after the first pass too a half inch blade or inch and a half depending what size you start with and width of the bead

I used this same tool and it sucks. The best tool is a big flat sawzall blade and a cordless sawzall. The wire breaks alot on the wire saw windshield tool. Good luck, practice at a junkyard with a few windows in case you break one

That tool is useless. Just get a wire saw and you won't break the window. People use the wire saw at salvage yards. First time I seen the guy using it. Had the glass out in 5 mins by himself...

Harbor freight has a step up model of this now that is probably comperable to the professional quality that you described.
