1937 Buick Straight Eight Series 40 Special

The 1937 Buick is one of Neil Joiner's favourite cars - not just because of the way it looks, but because of the silky smooth Straight-8 engine under the hood. The in-line 8 replaced the six-cylinder in 1931 and remained in production right up until 1953. Neil and I speculate that, so good was the engine, that makers were only forced to stop production in an effort to reduce the bonnet length. The 1937 Buick Special rode on a 122 in (3.10 m) wheelbase, and the engine was increased from 233 cu in 3.8 Litre to 248 cu in 4.1 Litre.

Yes hi Neil I would like to advise you that this Buick is a1938 model , you can tell by the grill on it and plus other smaller things on the car OK , have you got a book about Buicks because it will show you the differences between the two.

Yes it is a '38. Grill, hubcaps, dash, etc. They haven't got a clue. All the print ads shown are of '37 Buicks, I guess nobody bothered to check.

Hi there , sorry but you are mistaken this is a 1938 model Buick because Of the grill wasn't quite the same ,'t 1937 finer Steel (thinner Steel on. it the 38 was more boulder looking and arguably better looking than any other model,thank you bye.
