Regretfully Rammstein made a wrong decision by picking up this song as an opener at American Tour, Montreal august 2022 They also included "pussy" and "zick zag" that are really dull and boring and out of industrial metal current. People in Montreal reacted accordingly by showing their disinterest. To my surprise they eliminated from their repertoire songs like: "weisses fleisch" "ich tu dir weh" and "buckstabu" that would have electrifed the audience. Moreover, the version of "engel" presented at the concert was without the necessary equipment (wings) which underrated the song. If they do not change dramatically the setlist, the American tour will be a failure.
Hey, they cannot have always the same titles and exact same elements on a show. This would be really boring. But I agree, Pussy is such a weak song. Terrible sound ...
Europe disagrees. It was a great success and there were no 'ifs' and 'buts' in the comments after the shows. Armee der Tristen is a message for the audience. It's perhaps because most of us here speak (or at least understand) German, that this song hits it home. Apart from that: so many years together, being productive makes an endless list of great songs. It's hard to choose, I suppose. We (my wife and I) watched them twice in one month. We noticed that Till's voice had suffered that month between those concerts we attended. Perhaps, this setlist is chosen because it's 'easier' on Till's voice than a longer list of industrial metal songs(?) After all, he's doing an Olympic campaign performing like this. He's 59 y/o (60 in January).
I enjoyed the entire concert, the concert actually made me love Armee der tristen, at this point, I think it more of a personnal opinion, cause all of my friends enjoyed it too and at no point during the show the crowd wasn't enjoyed the concert.
Honestly I have no idea what are you talking about. This song is actually a PERFECT opener with a fantastic intro that is (sadly) not included on the album. This song sets up the whole atmosphere and is so incredibly powerful! I was lucky enough to attend 2 of their gigs in Europe and in terms of making the SHOW, currently there is NO better band. What about "Engel"? It was constructed the way to interact with the audience and should you see all the vids people put online with the cameras on the public and all that fun we made!

In Ostend, they even hoisted an 11 y/o boy into the boat. It's super-interaction. The boat scene is a message: about the refugees crossing the sea to Europe. The sign says 'Willkommen' (Welcome) and on the back: 'In der Dunkelheit' (into the Darkness). In a way, it is a political statement. Steering away from the so-called right-wing movement.
