Bolivia is the 2nd poorest country in South America, and was the poorest before the crisis in Venezuala. Like any country’s economic situation, Bolivia’s economic struggles are complex and heavily debated…but it’s relatively easy to identify at least one of the many reasons, it’s geography.

A mention of Cuenca would have been nice. It’s in southern Ecuador, third largest city and nestled in the Andes next to the Cajas National Park. Also a UNESCO Word Heritage Site.

Great video. This deserves a part 2. So much more to see in Ecuador. The coast has so many diverse climates: You could be driving through a very humid area with mountains and an hour and a half later you are in a dry tropical area with dry cliffs, and then back to tropical forest. It is crazy. That's what's great about Ecuador it is so small but yet so diverse, you can visit 3 regions in one day and all done by car. Come visit us, the people is also very welcoming and always willing to go out of their way to provide service and assistance. And don't start me about the food. Healthy, nutrición and slow cooked. It is basically healthy, warm confort food. 🙂

South America is underrated in my opinion. The Andes region is my most favourite natural place in the world. Besides all the things Geography Geek mentioned about this region, I would point out that the Andes has a lot of active volcanoes. Some of them are comparable in size and power to the Yellowstone supervolcano in USA. Yes, the Andes has a lot of supervolcanoes. As a matter of fact, the region is still in the process of either creating new supervolcanoes or transforming normal volcanoes into supervolcanoes.

In paper we have one of the most progressive constitutions in the world. But in practice, useless governments, rampant corruption and illegal mining and trafficking just destroy any attempts of enforcing it. Its pretty sad actually, because the beauty of this little country is unique and something worth protecting.

    • @nilsp9426

@@Pulpos999 I think it still matters to have written down how things should or could go. Even in the greatest mess, I think it is vital to have an idea what the goal must be and why. This way it is easier to understand what has to change. In some countries there were never any proper constitutions, let alone political education, so people do not even know on paper what a better government would look like.

Una buena porción de los primeros colonos ecuatorianos que llegaron a las Galapagos eran Salasacas, y varios de sus descendientes todavía viven las islas.
