@Malice Ye. I read Overlord light novel and I enjoyed it so much. But when I watched Overlord anime adaptation, specifically season 2 and 3, not only they miss some important details. but mainly the CGI made the anime look incredibly terrible. I hope they won't over-use or use any CGI at all in season 4.

I live in an area full of patronizing people all about "Self Acceptance" saying stuff like "Don't change yourself based on other people's standards" when I talk about losing weight or my difficulty with people. So I take their advice and don't listen to then at all and keep trying to get as fit as I want to be. Wish I had actual help from people like that

I remember having started to watch this anime, but almost dropped after the female lead started pushing her crap down the MCs throat and he accepted because he both liked her too much not to do it and because he was in debt to her for helping him stand on his feet again. AFAIK the anime does not sugar coat her harsh world view and overly strict conduct, but praises his decision to shut the hell up and do as it's told as the correct one. Well, at least he does things his own way, even if not confronting Hinami about it.
well all her words are exactly like my old friend girlfriend he took his life because she talk him down like that he is too weak to understand the world himself he needs change and he knew that but his depression and all the talk by his gf led him leave this world this anime hits too hard at home to me that FL lead are exact same but the ML didn't have depression just negative though on his end but there is to say i hate this type of wake up call it can be a double edge sword and can't be used to any shut-in this anime maybe good later on but based on that few talk at the beginning i drop it and seal it away (the gf i mention she feels guilty about it and now she a nun in a church) words are dangerous and solution can't be only limited to cruel harsh words there is a thing in severity and underlying problem.
I think it might come down to the viewer themselves on how Hinami is perceived! The writer is japanese after all (Culture/Country born & raised) so in that lens, her berating him and trying to change him is suppose to be seen as "a good thing!" But I'm sure even fellow Japanese would agree with you on her being annoying because the writer made her TOO perfect before her berating! Which was likely suppose to be seen as "well-intentioned" on her end. But this story REALLY feels like it's "Build a Boyfriend" workshop which pulls me out of the story (I really dislike this concept in general, and yes the same applies when it's "Build a Girlfriend" as well! I'm okay with helping a person become better then they were and a relationship might come out of it! But it has to be a case of "the Hinami" to title the one who is the superior in it not originally doing so for "the Tomozaki" AKA the Inferior, but a genie attempt to help them stop looking down on themselves and be happy instead of the "stepford smile" happy they think is okay for them! Frankly the conflict should be more "The Hinami" coming to terms with their now developing feelings for "the Tomozaki" and them OBVIOUSLY catching on that their falling in love with them. But the fear for the "the Hinami" is that their feelings for "the Tomozaki" as well as "the Tomozaki" feelings for them and trying to get the nerve to confess to "the Hinami" may be because of "the Hinami" being kind to them and helping them self-improve and "the Hinami" fear is taking advantage of "The Tomozaki," fearing if it doesn't work out, "The Tomozaki" might go back to the state they were in out of fear of being hurt! Basically "the Hinami" wants to know if "any of this romance feel is real on both ends" then just the usual "got to make people dense to have that romantic conflict that's become old and played out AND NEEDS TO FUCKING DIE!)
As an LN reader, I can assure you that FMC forcing her views on MC is intentionally like that. As the story progresses, their viewpoints and experiences start to deviate more & more. It's explored in Volume 6 and 8 of the LN.

I had this on my watch list for the longest time and hadn't started until watching this video. after just a couple minutes, I decided to go ahead and watch the show and honestly, it's incredible how just a couple things makes a world of difference in life. Just goes to show how anime can honestly change people so much. Thank you very much.
Nice anime with some good story that can definitely compare to the normal life. I can't say that I'm exactly like the character, but the way my life has been so far, the similarities are equivalent to 8/10 (the missing 2 is me not being n.1 in a game as I'm a casual xD), but yeah I had my fair amount of solitude, but my social skills saved me good times. Though sadly real life isn't like that when talking about girls, ofc it isn't hard to get one, but is mostly the timing of when that needs to happen that's the problem. Biggest tip I could give to anyone, is if you are in high-school, get your ass up and get some good friends and look for a partner, coze after that time passes, friends will come and go, but can say bye bye to girls (simply because of how the time will manage itself around you, and how you will start putting a more serious face and having more demands than before).
The take time to do it in HS is so true. Growing up. Finishing college, i feel like I never have time to get out and explore places and meet people the way I used to. Very very good tip for people and I wish I would have listened to my mom when she told me the same thing

Instead of a whole “life coach” thing, the main girl gives off the vibe of basically building her own boyfriend. It’s really unsettling and genuinely sets off a bunch of red flags of who to avoid to have as a girlfriend.
This is my biggest pet peeve about romance anime. Why does it take soooo long to figure out that you like someone? Or take soooo damn long for a couple to actually get together? To me this seems like she liked him secretly and went through this whole montage to get him to straighten him out to fit in with society.

I was also a gamer and never went out. I have improved myself but for me everything was pointless. I have alot to do now and have alot of friends. I lost all my depression and sucidial thoughts but im now at a stage that some things cant be get no matter what we do... To anyone wondering, the anime doesn't end there. Anime covers first 3 volumes of the LN. And an anime project is confirmed which is very likely a Season 2. Source material is 10 volumes and 2 side stories. Out of which 8 volumes have been translated to English (side stories too).
The premise of the anime is stupid. The message is nice and some minor good advice, unrealistic with its outcomes but nice all the same, but the world and by extension competetive games are very unfair. The point is to understand the unfairness, understand many many many men, women and children never escape the unfairness and regularly die from it, and move as best you can through it, youll find small successes within the unfairness more often than not but some people die pointlessly at 0 fault of their own. The problem is the anime does what a lot of anime does and sets up unrealistic outcomes for the level of effort the main character puts in. Which is where my issue with it comes into play and im relatively successful.
its a Anime the Story out put is always unrealistic out coming. But i don't understand why you need a unrealistic out coming, in real life its more easy than that. All you need is change your dress your style and meet people,making Sport rise your skill level for friends and Girls over 9000. So you see in real life your not even need a unrealistic out coming. I remember having started to watch this anime, but almost dropped after the female lead started pushing her crap down the MCs throat and he accepted because he both liked her too much not to do it and because he was in debt to her for helping him stand on his feet again.
AFAIK the anime does not sugar coat her harsh world view and overly strict conduct, but praises his decision to shut the hell up and do as it's told as the correct one.
Well, at least he does things his own way, even if not confronting Hinami about it.

I think it might come down to the viewer themselves on how Hinami is perceived! The writer is japanese after all (Culture/Country born & raised) so in that lens, her berating him and trying to change him is suppose to be seen as "a good thing!" But I'm sure even fellow Japanese would agree with you on her being annoying because the writer made her TOO perfect before her berating! Which was likely suppose to be seen as "well-intentioned" on her end. But this story REALLY feels like it's "Build a Boyfriend" workshop which pulls me out of the story (I really dislike this concept in general, and yes the same applies when it's "Build a Girlfriend" as well! I'm okay with helping a person become better then they were and a relationship might come out of it! But it has to be a case of "the Hinami" to title the one who is the superior in it not originally doing so for "the Tomozaki" AKA the Inferior, but a genie attempt to help them stop looking down on themselves and be happy instead of the "stepford smile" happy they think is okay for them! Frankly the conflict should be more "The Hinami" coming to terms with their now developing feelings for "the Tomozaki" and them OBVIOUSLY catching on that their falling in love with them. But the fear for the "the Hinami" is that their feelings for "the Tomozaki" as well as "the Tomozaki" feelings for them and trying to get the nerve to confess to "the Hinami" may be because of "the Hinami" being kind to them and helping them self-improve and "the Hinami" fear is taking advantage of "The Tomozaki," fearing if it doesn't work out, "The Tomozaki" might go back to the state they were in out of fear of being hurt! Basically "the Hinami" wants to know if "any of this romance feel is real on both ends" then just the usual "got to make people dense to have that romantic conflict that's become old and played out AND NEEDS TO FUCKING DIE!)
As an LN reader, I can assure you that FMC forcing her views on MC is intentionally like that. As the story progresses, their viewpoints and experiences start to deviate more & more. It's explored in Volume 6 and 8 of the LN.

Nice anime with some good story that can definitely compare to the normal life. I can't say that I'm exactly like the character, but the way my life has been so far, the similarities are equivalent to 8/10 (the missing 2 is me not being n.1 in a game as I'm a casual xD), but yeah I had my fair amount of solitude, but my social skills saved me good times. Though sadly real life isn't like that when talking about girls, ofc it isn't hard to get one, but is mostly the timing of when that needs to happen that's the problem.
Biggest tip I could give to anyone, is if you are in high-school, get your ass up and get some good friends and look for a partner, coze after that time passes, friends will come and go, but can say bye bye to girls (simply because of how the time will manage itself around you, and how you will start putting a more serious face and having more demands than before).
The take time to do it in HS is so true. Growing up. Finishing college, i feel like I never have time to get out and explore places and meet people the way I used to. Very very good tip for people and I wish I would have listened to my mom when she told me the same thing

Hear me out. The anime covers first 3 volumes. 10 Volumes released so far (2 side stories) and 8 of them are translated to English. Not to mention "an anime project" is confirmed for this too which very likely means Season 2. Anime adaption isn't too great but it gets the story right so go for it.

Instead of a whole “life coach” thing, the main girl gives off the vibe of basically building her own boyfriend. It’s really unsettling and genuinely sets off a bunch of red flags of who to avoid to have as a girlfriend.
I haven't seen the anime so maybe I'm a little biased. But she could genuinely be trying to help

This is my biggest pet peeve about romance anime. Why does it take soooo long to figure out that you like someone? Or take soooo damn long for a couple to actually get together? To me this seems like she liked him secretly and went through this whole montage to get him to straighten him out to fit in with society.

@@dylandierking411 if this is true then she has absolutely zero reason to change him, regardless of the reason. He is fit to live however he sees fit even that means him walking a lonely, antisocial lifestyle which, spoiler alert, there is NOTHING wrong with that.
Don't get me wrong it's nice to see a good moral story to see someone turn their life around unless they do that himself, for him his own sake. But, for a girl to string you along change you, to fit in as a member of society just because she looked down at him to that he's barely now worth acknowledging is kinda fucked up.

The premise of the anime is stupid.
The message is nice and some minor good advice, unrealistic with its outcomes but nice all the same, but the world and by extension competetive games are very unfair.
The point is to understand the unfairness, understand many many many men, women and children never escape the unfairness and regularly die from it, and move as best you can through it, youll find small successes within the unfairness more often than not but some people die pointlessly at 0 fault of their own.
The problem is the anime does what a lot of anime does and sets up unrealistic outcomes for the level of effort the main character puts in.
Which is where my issue with it comes into play and im relatively successful.
