I thought they actually used them pretty well. For most of the show they're providing atmospheric noises or altered samples from United in Grief, which is the running musical motif throughout the show. They aren't doubling the brass part to make the corps sound bigger or pumping in low end to get away with a smaller contra section which are the two really egregious uses of synths in the activity right now.
@@noggin6870 I played synth 1 with SCV this past season and we did double the brass like almost all the time, especially in big moments, but we always knew to not, and excuse for the lack of a better term, “overtake” the brass sound. But trust me, the synth part was something special. ❤️💚🎹
Check stick preps are a super useful tool for cleaning things up, but it's just so impressive and refreshing to see something be this clean without relying on them.
