We people in sawsymper 🙏 we do speak a variety of maram khasi dialect. So , khasi dialect belong to Austro Asiatic language family which is divided into two parts mon n khmer. Khasi dialect belong from khmer.🙏 A variety of maram dialect is the only one which has an ergative marking like Tibeto-Burman languages 🙏if you want to clarify 🙏 you can come to my house at mawryngkang. I have so many languages books n grammar textbook🙏

We at nongstoin we use maram_mawiang_ khatsawphra mixed language but the origin nongstoin language I think only 3% ,the people use nongstoin language only at these few locality at nongstoin town,not at large number can speak it at the market nor any other places

Sallaloit actually is an English Word "Celluloid" which means Plastic, but people in Rural areas pronounce it Sallaloit and it became a new word.
