Illedrac where did you get those amounts? you only need a 5s to be compatible with the watch. let's say a 5s is 320 (usually less nowadays) and the watch that im considering purchasing is about 260 (these are all US dollars too) so really it's not even a phone that you're talking about. add the fact many people already have a 5s at least and can easily just save up for the watch alone.

Also a quick disclaimer, I'm getting a glass screen protector for my watch because they shatter pretty easily and if you don't have the app called care on your watch it'll be £199 to repair but if you do have the app called cafe on it, it's like £120 to repair so yeah... watch out!

Looking at my watch, I'm pretty sure it's symmetrical, meaning it's not *made* to be worn on your left hand like a computer mouse is *made* to be used with your right hand (concerning thumb buttons). Also, why would you care about "watch etiquette"? A watch (and even more so a smartwatch) is a tool first and foremost, and using it in a uncomfortable way just because someone else tells you to is... pretty dumb. Now sure, for special occasions, where you really want to make your first impression count (e.g. a business meeting or something), you might want to wear it on your left wrist, but for day to day use, comfort should be first priority.
Ceramics are not expensive to make that's just Apple being Apple. The cost of making ceramics is pennies compared to metals. Trust me I work in the industry.
