    I've carried my CRKT Obake for 8 months now. I absolutely love it. One of the best designed blades, giving the parameters it was meant to fit. It's never uncomfortable, it has the perfect amount of "heft" to remind you of high quality. Great blade overall, wish they made a few longer versions.

    I can’t believe this knife has been out for so long and I just found it ! I was debating between another small fixed blade for daily carry and ended up buying this one as a gift for a friend and to also check it out ..well I ended up buying one for myself shortly after. I received it today and after wearing it one day I can see the sheath failing soon. Maybe get armatus carry to make you upgraded sheaths ! He just made me one for my izula and I love it ! Anyhow the knife is awesome, still figuring out how to wear it best..

    I've had the Obake for a couple years now and love it. The grip is amazing and the size makes it very easily concealed. I carry mine in the waist, above my right rear pocket, so it would seem to a thief as if I'm simply reaching for my wallet. I just bought the Shinbu, and will conceal carry it (under the arm) if a larger blade is needed.

    I have a CRKT M-16 that is difficult to sharpen and will not hold an edge. Twice I've had the edge geometry changed (by a professional) once to a finer edge and then back to what is close to original. I've had knives that are easy to sharpen and with good edge holding properties and not so good. I've had knives that are more challenging to sharpen but hold an edge well. I've only had one knife that is difficult to sharpen and won't hold an edge. Any suggestions or solutions on this issue? Do other CRKT blades have this issue?

    What is the plastic piece with two tiny screws for/go?

    • @crkt
      @crkt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey @charlespinnell7546, great question. The CRKT Obake comes with a "J hook" clip which attaches to the sheath and would hook onto the top of your waistband, keeping it from dropping into your pants.

    • @charlespinnell7546
      @charlespinnell7546 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! I can't really keep stuff in my waist band without a clip or something because I have a small butt. I was picturing the knife slideing down by my thigh and sneak drawing from under my shorts. Hehe. I always wanted to carry a gun like that like in the movies. Pretty unrealistic and seems dangerous anyway. thanks again

    Half a yr ago I got the obake from walmart. Today I bought the obake skoshi at dick's. Found it to be a great off hand concealed belt knife. One question I have is, how does the clip/hook thing work? It's a pain in the butt to unsheathe the blade using the clip/hook attachment w/ the already tiny skoshi.

    • @crkt
      @crkt  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @5toHeaven- The Skoshi has the extra J hook attachment so you can hang the sheath on your belt or in your pocket. If you need more information or just some help on this, please contact our customer service department: info@crkt.com or call 800-891-3100. They should be able to help you with this!

    Ordered this knife a while ago, I can't wait to get it. I love these japanese style designs! I Already have the heiho for EDC, and I love it. I think the CRKT 8cr14mov outpeforms Kabar AUS8 steel with edge retention, but it chips a little easier. Now all I want is something bigger like the hissatsu.

    • @crkt
      @crkt  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +John Marcley Pretty much just following the natural edge of the knife is the best method and keeping the angle between 17 and 22 degrees. I can recommend a sharpener if you need one, he is local to us but an expert on our knives.

    I love Lucas' kwaiken flipper folder as well as this fixed blade knife. I'm big on the idea of a practical edc compact fixed blade knife. Interesting ideas on the carry setup. Some criticism- I really wish CRKT would produce this blade in America with 154cm, CPM154 or S30v steel. I would buy 2. Maybe you could do a collab with the USN with toxic green rayskin or paracord wrap? I see some really interesting knives coming out of CRKT for 2014, but I'm disappointed they are all Chinese produced 8crXmov steel.

    I like it, but then it seems to be a bad ideal.
    If you wear it as advertised (or under clothes, direct skin contact) and you sweat badly, the lanyard and the wrap is going to collect your sweat. And bacteria is gona breed in it.
