How I understood this list was that it is based on how many games they think they will be available, and the stats/success they are going to put up. They have Ja so low on the list not because they think he is worse than all the guys under him, but because he is going to miss 25 games bare minimum. They have Kawhi so low on the list because everyone knows hes going to miss a ton of games for injury. They have Westbrook so low because they think his stats are going to be worse than everyone else's who is higher than him (nothing to do with his career). Now agree or disagree with the list based on those parameters, but that is what they are thinking.

I don't agree with a lot of the list, but this is predictions for how they're going to play this upcoming season. Like this is supposed to be the hypothetical final MVP vote for next season. So, Ja missing 25 games, meaning he wouldn't even be eligible for the MVP award, plays a huge part in where they think he'll finish. Missing those games, then coming back and trying to find chemistry with the team, it's going to be the all-star break before he even gets going.
He’s able to practice, travel and be with the team. Chemistry will not be an issue. If he wasn’t able to do that then I’d understand what you’re saying. Only thing is it will take him a couple games to find his game rhythm so him missing 25 games isn’t going to be a big deal like when he missed 20ish before and they still won.

I don't agree with a lot of the list, but this is predictions for how they're going to play this upcoming season. Like this is supposed to be the hypothetical final MVP vote for next season. So, Ja missing 25 games, meaning he wouldn't even be eligible for the MVP award, plays a huge part in where they think he'll finish. Missing those games, then coming back and trying to find chemistry with the team, it's going to be the all-star break before he even gets going.
