I can’t believe the 2002 giants aren’t in this. They were winning 5-0 in the 7th inning of game 6 of the World Series and Dusty infamously pulled Russ Ortiz and gave him the ball and they blew it
I feel bad for Kershaw at this point. I thought he would figure it out eventually and have a big postseason series... but it never happened and his chances are gone. He's a #4 SP at this point in his career. If healthy. Tough for a guy who was the best pitcher for a good # of years. I guess you could count the fake world series he won... but without fans there, it's wasn't an overcoming of the pressure situation for Kershaw imo.
I mean, he was constantly run out there on short rest, continually pitched into the 7th inning desptie the workload, and wasn't taken out when he should have been. His two home games he pitched at Dodger Stadium against the Astros vs. the lone road game have striking stat difference (geez, I wonder why), but sure, he's a choker.
@williamkerfoot8039 he plays in a in an era where everyone is taken out early. And again, so many of those starts are on short rest. Pedrondidtn even pitch well after the 7th inning in the playoffs.
14:43 not to mention the Indians trying to end a 68 year drought themselves, and worst of all blowing a 3-1 lead after roasting the Warriors all summer long for blowing a 3-1 lead against the Cavs
@@jacksonconley5117yup. but just like the Cubs in that 2016 season, the Mariners' time is gonna come someday. Yes, the Cubs won the WS 3 other times, but not in many, many decades.
As a Sox fan, the 2004 alcs is absolute comedy gold lmao. Watching the players and especially the Yankee fans just get deflated over a matter of days kills me everytime.
I am surprised the 1968 St. Louis Cardinals, 1979 Baltimore Orioles, 1981 Houston Astros, 1984 Chicago Cubs, 1985 Toronto Blue Jays, and 1986 California Angels were not on the list.
The 1985 Blue Jays should have been here considering the fact that they are the first team to blow a 3-1 series lead in the League Championship Series.
I know what team is gonna be in this one… that series still gives me nightmares to this day, still pains me to this day 14:46 yep. That series HAD to be in this video! Don’t worry Robbie, I don’t hate you
2005 cardinals should be on this list. They won like a 100 games and were up 3-2 going into game 6 in the NLCS at home against the Astros and choked and lost both games
The Astros were the 2nd wild card team against the leagues top seed. Although they blew a 6-2 8th inning lead in game 4, I don’t consider that a choke since the better team won
I am shocked the 2023 Phillies are not on here. The Team was destined to return to the World Series and most likely would have won it. But the offense just lost all life and the team collapsed to epic proportions.
I still hold that the only team that could've beat them in the AL was Houston. When the rangers got in, I was sure that phillie had their ring. Then they tanked the LCS
As a Phillies fan. No shocker this team is always home run or bust and during this window that has costed us. We have steam full of sluggers then wonder why we choke every year
2022 Dodgers had a lot of problems, that is why wins in the regular season dont translate to the postseason or even other seasons. Would you say the 2022 (111 win) Dodgers were better than the 2024 (98 win) Dodgers? I would say no, this years team has problems, but they have been managed well. Even with that, they have hit with runners in scoring position, which the 2022 team did not do. I have very confident that we actually win the World Series this year. This is the best Dodger team (minus 17' 20') that i have ever seen.
01 mariners lost because they drained themselves in the regular season for the 116 wins record. Pinella's fault. Not a choke so much as players were drained
91? Maybe, 96 yes. I'd add 97 too. I was a huge marlins fan and I was at one of the playoff games in Florida, chipper homered... but anyways, Livan hernandez got a lot of bad balls called strikes... but I was glad as an 8 year old marlins fan.
Yes 91. because the Braves should have won game 7 1-0. Pendletons double should have scored Lonnie smith in the top of the 8th, but smiths base running gaffe, kept the game scoreless. In 92 they blew a 9th inning lead in game 2. Yeah the livan Hernandez game in 97 was ridiculous. He could have thrown the ball to the peanut vendor in the upper deck and it woulda been called a strike
Biggest choke ever are the '86 Red Sox. They are one out away from winning the World Series in the bottom of the10th inning in game 6 against the Mets. They have a 2 run lead and the bases are empty! At that moment, thinking the Red Sox have won the series, they flash a scoreboard alert saying that Red Sox pitcher Bruce Hurst has been named the MVP of the World Series. Then, Gary Carter singles, Kevin Mitchell singles and Ray Knight singles. The score is now 5-4. Bob Stanley then throws a wild pitch (should have been a passed ball to Rich Gedman)) and the game is tied. Mookie then hits a dribbler past Buckner and the rest is history. BTW, the MVP award is subsequently given to Ray Knight, not Bruce Hurst. Worst choke ever!
I can’t believe the 2002 giants aren’t in this. They were winning 5-0 in the 7th inning of game 6 of the World Series and Dusty infamously pulled Russ Ortiz and gave him the ball and they blew it
2019 Dodgers against the Nats
I like how your videos just start and don’t have some unnecessary intro
Clayton Kershaw not being the number one thumbnail person is a crime. He's literally called Clayton Chokeshaw for a reason.
Good call. I’ll fix that 😂

69 Orioles. They won 109 games but lost to the mets in 5 games in the World Series.
That’s a good one too!
Padres 2024, 2-1 series lead in the NLDS and couldn’t score in the next 24 innings
As a Mariners fan I’m just happy to be included in a video about the postseason
😂😂😂😂😂

1986 Red Sox too
Don’t remind me of 85, glad no one remembers it
The 1985 Blue Jays should have been here considering the fact that they are the first team to blow a 3-1 series lead in the League Championship Series.
David Freese who was the 2011 NLCS and World Series MVP went completely silent in the 2012 NLCS against the Giants.
Still, in 91, they played the Twins in à 7 game thriller many consider the best WS played.

The greatest game of baseball was played on a Wednesday night in Cleveland

This is a great example of momentum being killed by bad umping. It can be the biggest fall for teams.
Hopefully 2024 Yankees will be eligible for this soon

The 05 cards were down 3-1 and got another game because of Pujols moonshot then promptly lost
It wasn’t the 2011 Phillies pitching thst couldn’t get it done,. It was their bats. Halladay only gave up 1 run in game 5.
2015 Astros immediately come to mind

The 2012 cardinals shouldn't be a choke, it should be karma.
The luck ran out
The infield fly calm wouldbt have scored the winning run. The cardinals woulda still held on to win
The giants were also a much better team than them
01 mariners lost because they drained themselves in the regular season for the 116 wins record. Pinella's fault. Not a choke so much as players were drained

Their starting pitching was so overrated! Those pitchers and the bottom of their hitting lineup killed them!

not every loss is a choke, a team can just lose to a better team. that happens in the postseason.
