Catherine Laboure Asian American Association. And, the SCLAAA, so moved, by their spiritual enthusiasm for this project could not help but respond to this calling of the Grupo da Imaculada, a Marian Movement propagating the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which is the state as she appeared in Fatima to the message of our Lady of Fatima to Sister Lucia at the second apparition on June 13, 1917 is now spread all over the world. We are blessed to have the opportunity to have the FIRST SHRINE to be built in the United States parish of St. Catherine Laboure, Glenview, Illinois. The plan for the inauguration of the enshirement and consecration of the shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is set on August 20, 2017. His Eminence Cardinal Blasé Cupich to grace the celebration of this momentous event with his presence. SCLAAA would like to thank the Chua’s for being the messenger for the Holy Spirit and Our Lady to Association, and to everyone for your prayers and contributions. With the intercession of Our Blessed Mother, together we can be instrumental in spreading this devotion to others, bringing love, peace and joy in our hearts. Our impossible dream will become a reality. Fr. Maina The week’s bulletin mention about the construction going on along the southwest side of the church. On Sunday, March 5 after the 11:00am Mass, I presided over the blessing of the grounds where the first North America Monumento of the Grupo da Imaculada will be established. This sanctuary will house a statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as she appeared in Fatima, Portugal in 1917, exactly 100 years ago. So, St. Catherine Labouré will be the first parish in the North America to have a monument of Mary through the Grupo da Immaculada devotional movement. The following is a narrative about the Grupo da Immaculada provided by one of its leaders. The goal of the Grupo da Imaculada from Portugal is to establish a "Monumento" in every city, town or municipality and have the homes and families be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary so that Our Lady will protect them from all evil.
