Where the hell has this game been all my life? It's a godly combination of two of my favorite things: Shounen Anime and Dodgeball. I played it after discovering this video and now I can't stop playing!
If you like shounen anime and dodgeball you should check out the first two Dodge Danpei games which were translated into English. They're fun games as long as you're okay with games with card battle systems.
Same I had the mame arcade on my computer it had all the arcade games and stumble upon this and street fighter alpha with extras like Guile Juli Juni Balrog
This is super rare to see in the United States I only ever saw it once inside an indoor swap meet in Anaheim but sadly was tucked away in a place where no one would notice it. The gameplay really stood out to me.

How amazing would it be of WayForward made a River City Girls version of this game? All the characters consist of, obviously the main cast but also all the bosses, NPC's and even some of the shopkeepers you find in RCG
@@joeorsini6110 Technōs had some console games here in the States, Super Dodge Ball is not one of them as it was sold by CSG Imagesoft (Sony Imagesoft) rather than American Technōs.
This rapid zooming in and out sh*t is killing! Transit that that kind of stuff a lil slowly please, Technos... Guys! Even though Technos has went into a bankruptcy; the Technos team are still alive and still doing something! ...*Cough* ... Hidden in the Nintendo Wii era -.- .. Why did they sale their Double Dragon franchise so early back in the 90's?
3 of my top dodge ball players Kunio, Kenji and Riki and I feel sorry for the final boss for what happened to his wife the mother of Angela ((referee)) the final boss was a top dodge ball player and he lost his wife accidentally during one of his games
Oh, I'm well aware of the NES version. Fantastic game it is, too. Still, I've not seen this arcade machine in the States. Haven't seen the Super NES version,though.

I find it weird how all of the uploaded OSTs of this game lack the extra instruments you hear in-game here. Has anyone even uploaded the game rips with them?
We played with my brother but you can catch all the super and last attack very easy, like you need to get yourself one l¿player down to have a fun match :D

More specificly, all characters have a special throw that's a DP (Forward, Down, Down-forward) command and a deflection that's also on DP. Captains have a second special throw on a QCF (Down, Down-forward, Forward). On a full meter, the entire infield team can deflect at once, and Captains initiate a team super throw with a F-HCF (Forward, Back, Down-back, Down, Down-forward, Forward) command. My usual team is Kunio, (Strong special throws) Kenji, (Best deflection, special throws likely to rebound back to own side or go through to outfield players) and Sabu (Only team super (among playable captains...) that keeps the entire team on their own side (...Maou's first form is also 'safe' this way))

-Special Move 1 (Any character): Forward, down, down-forward. (Dragon Punch)
-Special Move 2 (Captains only): Down, down-forward, forward. (Quarter-circle Forward)
-Team Super: (Power MAX, Captain must initiate, In/Out status not important): Forward, down-forward, down, down-back, back, forward. (Half-circle Back, Forward (Haoh Shokoken))

Fun Fact: In the JP ver., Shinji ACTUALLY flipped you off rather than showing Fist.
Back in the 90's, a bird flipping was not inappropriate in Japan as it was in the west. you can see many middle fingers even in Dragon Ball Z.
The JP version was never released, Technōs went defunct before it could be released. this game only got a limited international release from SNK.

I'm counting a dozen rule violations. This is clearly not accredited by the Dodgeball International Committee of Kinship.
It would a lesser Kunio-kun game if the rules get respected.

Kouki reminds me of Yusuke Urameshi and Ryu, and one of his opponents looks like Kuwabara.
