Best part mate was the Kangaroo Skip through the ice?? [6:27] You did have some fun!! Unfortunately We Aussies dont not have that much at our Back Doors## Only in the Esky. Great Flying..!!@
What an excellent & practical conversion. You just have to admire people who think outside the box & act on it. The kangaroo hops was a nice touch. It also looked very interesting during inverted flight. Great vid, great concept, great flying.
Fantastic video... nice editing. Next time would love to hear some little commentary. and must agree 6:27 looked great bouncing off the snow. ( 6 white boomers.. snow white boomers... )
Andrej, beautiful pictures, wonderful editing and perfect flying as always. I will never get to try that as I live in the sub tropics in Oz and we never ever see snow but it sure looked like fun. Can't believe how different the 1600 looks with skis fitted. Hope to have mine back in the air soon after an extensive re build . Seems the junk ESC failed during flight and she crashed heavily after an uncontrolled vertical dive. I had to plastic weld the nose area and make a nose brace/heatsink to hold the motor in place. HK Plush 40 amp fitted now. Keep up the great work and happy flying.
Hi Stew, thank you for your comment. These are actually the floats that my Durafly Tundra came with, I was suprised how well this plane flew with these floats, they are very light though - made out of a foam. I am using a trusty YEP ESC in my P1600 (30 amp). I had to make a similar mod as you on my Phoenix 2000 when the motor literally flew out of the fuselage during the flight because the firewall - plastic motor mount developed a small cracks and eventually gave up. Thanks!

Excelent great flying, magic winter, thank you.
This looks so fun! Great! :D
Great video and beautiful landscape. Phoenix 1600 is my favourite go to plane, best all round plane
Hi, thanks. This glider flies really well and is pretty cheap. My plane is now a few years old and it still serves me well :)
a close up on the undercarriage would be nice... how'd you attach the floats ?
