The words rang in James' head, almost bringing fresh tears to his eyes. Michael wanted him. Mike actually wanted him. He said it so easily, like the words had been bubbling in his chest, straining against his soul until they were released. Who else could it be but you? Who else? It seemed so obvious to Michael, the realization, but to James it was so difficult. How could he wrap his head around the fact that Michael, god-like, ethereal, miles-away Michael could not even fathom himself with anyone else but him? Michael, who didn't care about others, who was selfish and bossy and took no shit, only desired James.
The thought made his heart flutter. What did that make him? He was no god. Not like Michael. He was just a boy, just a child. But here, wrapped snug in the arms of his god he began to feel holy. Worthy. Sacred. Was this what Michael felt like all the time? So confident and so sure, strength and might coiled in his gut and seeping through his pores? Maybe.
A hand made its way into James' hair, running its digits through his locks, traveling down the back of his neck and settling surely between his shoulder blades. It felt hot to the touch, like his very own nerves were turned to gold against Michael's divine touch; purity embedded deep into his skin as his body welcomed Michael's empowering aura hungrily like a starved beast.
Perhaps there was something to this religion thing after all.
