I worked there 10 years in the railroad dept. On the blue unit, you put that train together like a pro, very pretty, very nice, I've saw that scene many many times, getting it out of town, NICE WORK I was there from 1975-1985 again very pretty well done, I have a complete list of every car Ringling bought, over a 100 from union Pacific, and the entire train, twentieth century limited from NYC this list includes "hickory creek" " Sandy Creek" rear end observation cars purchased for $7500.00 each in 1968
So, here’s an interesting tidbit. I grew up in Amherst, MA, my father was an active member of the model railroading society and friends with Bill Venman. I also lived on the Red Unit train for four years, two as the Head Sound and two years as Operations Manager.
It was great seeing John and the Circus Train again at Amherst.
