When Fable 2 players first saw the bridge in the snowglobe, everybody went ballistic. Replaying that game right now and that quest is still so melancholic!
I still remember when I first starting playing 'Fable 2' and finding that box of chocolates deep in Wraithmarsh. At the time I didn't know what it meant, but when I found out I got goosebumps.
@@Skyrionn Too true. I've always had a particular attachment to Oakvale( I lived and married there in the first game). The Snowglobe is a particularly special possession in 'Fable 2'.
I'm glad we got to find out, and see what happened to it. I loved visiting the cursed town in the snow globe to see how it did look before Reaver made the deal.

I had no idea Reaver was from Oakvale! Or that this is why the Shadow Court is there. Still really interesting how it's right where Theresa was in the opening of the first game...
@@Skyrionn wouldn't read too much into it, that field is basically at the entrance to Oakvale, and it's spacey, so it'd be better to set up shop there instead of on the village itself
I was quite shocked to find that out. You'd think they'd be more accepting of heroes considering the Hero of Oakvale came from there and literally saved Albion.
It's easy to miss, but you can find a book in fable 2 that actually mentions the Oakvale anti hero league. Just search the bookstores in the game and it will appear randomly in one of them.
i thought the villagers that destroyed the guild were from Bowerstone after the anti hero sentiment spread there too, but it was in oakvale were the movement began
Hearing that Oakvale was where the Anti-heroes movement originated from surprised me, because I thought the village was destroyed by Reaver before the guild fell. Oakvale's second and last destruction was just the straw that broke the camels back for everyone in Albion. But knowing that it happened after the guild fell proved that everyone died because there were no heroes left to save them, all because of their actions.
It really got to me on what happened to oakvale. Initially, I thought oakfield in fable 2 was oakvale that bloomed, but when I learned of it's true fate it broke my heart. I dont know if I'm being over emotional but knowing that the first town you explore... the first hero you play as.. the birthplace of the character that kickstarted it all.. To me it felt like a short summarization of the hero of oakvale didn't do justice, and to me the death of oakvale was the final nail in the coffin of his legacy.. sad to think about it
I love your channel it's a great thing we have you to tell us about the lore of fable! Personally fable 1 will always be my favorite of the bunch. Keep up the great work dude!

I hope they keep Theresa in as seer and bring back jack of blades! .... or at least the mask somehow.... through jacks determination as the mask hit the lava he manifested just enough mana to protect it from vaporizing only for decades to pass and the mask is discovered by an other hero sharing the archon bloodline
You deserve much more views and subs for doing this, haven't found much of Fable on TH-cam anymore which is weird because the games have a massive fanbase still hoping for more Fable.
Fable TLC was the first rpg I played and defined my childhood. I didn't play any later installments so I didn't know what happened after. They didn't do right by Oakvale. Should have kept it as it was, unchanged by man and untouched by the sword.
First experience with fable was on Xbox original years later got to play fable 2 still love to travel to Raith marsh and remember how it was and on the bridge where you encounter Maize after the bandit raid! epic games to this day! will have to relive the first story again sometime
It's insane how much oakvale changed between Fable and Fable 2's snowglobe/wraithmarsh. Not just the building placements but the land itself. To compare i jumped into Fable Anniversary and took screenshots of the bridge, the way up to it But most importantly of me going to the end of the bridge where you can see two houses, one of which you can own. In fable two, where those houses were is just gone. It's like that entire ridge collapsed into the earth. I was pretty disappointed because i wanted to find the Hero of Oakvale's home in 2. I'm really looking forward to more videos on fable if you'll make them. I'm about to binge all the videos you have on it so far now.

In Fable, I didn’t really ponder the detail that was the townspeople carrying crates around in the morning, I do remember seeing some set them down at shops, but they’re still empty if you run into them or if you’re evil, making the townspeople carrying them go into their scared animations, causing the crates to break spontaneously
I'm sure I read somewhere that they didn't include this in later Fable games. I loved that they did tiny details like that to make the world feel more alive.
I love Oakvale. I believe it's Karma since they did destroy the Heroes Guild. No more Heroes left. No one was able to save the villagers from a greedy man inside the village.
While this is probably inaccurate and I'm not 100% sure of this, I saw a post awhile back that I thought was interesting about how in Fable 3, it is possible that Driftwood (I think that's the name) is actually Oakvale after it had been abandoned and destroyed overtime, evolving into a reservoir for nature to run course amongst. Like I said, I don't know for sure on any of that, but it is an interesting thought to me. I mean, you can even see the spire from there if anything.

I’ve been replaying these games lately, let me say…. It’s been unreal now that I’m older and can better understand the quests and stories. These games are absolutely amazing I love the whole series it’s so damn good
On fable 3 both Logan and his brother or sister are the bloodline of the hero of oakvale and hero of bowerstone family tree even thressa and her dad and mother and others are their ancestors but Logan doesn’t say thressa our ancestor he only said our father guide
That's because she's not. She's related to their ancestor but not directly related to them. Theresa had no children, therefore she cannot have descendants
Hmm, looks like I spoiled a bit of Fable 2 for myself, but besides making me lose my youth due to moral obligations I have more reasons to dislike Reaver now. Lol
It's such a sad story to hear. Especially since I started out with Fable 2 and 3. Looking back on how happy of a place it must have been, it really makes me hate Reaver more honestly. How can someone be so foolish and a Hero no less. As it goes with the balance I guess 🤷 I think some bonus content had a quest of what was supposed to be Oakvale village's souls trapped and you could free them all. That's what I hope anyway.

Another fantastic episode. Very tragic tale for the town but they sure did rebound. Can't believe it took 10 years to rebuild.
