- Watch Byomkesh Bakshi's ninth episode 'Agnibaan'. Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective in Bengali literature created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. He is one of the most successful and popular characters in Bengali literature.
Doordarshan now brings to you the entire series of this literary classic which was televised back in 1993 directed by the brilliant Basu Chatterjee. Actor Rajit Kapur played the role of Byomkesh Bakshi, for which he was highly praised. Ajit was played by K.K. Raina and Satyaboti was played by Sukanya Kulkarni who was the first actress to play the character. - บันเทิง

This story was written in 1944, imagine the impression it would have created. Nowadays we have seen so many types of murder mystery, detective series that this might not appear so great. But imagine the mind of the writer to conceive this back then, gives me goosebumps. If you know Bengali, you should read the book. It is simply amazing. Hats off Saradindu daa 😊😊😊
Sharadindu Bandopadhyay was a pioneer in his writings. There is no bengali writer that remains relevant to this day as he does.

But for non-Bengali folks like us, we will judge a drama or a movie based simply on the film's Screenplay. Script writing is a unique art, and it can be either a 'hit or miss' because of the condensation of the novel, whether the novel is 100 pages or 400 pages long. The better the script writers (makers of the show), the better is the outcome. But of course my opinion doesn't contradict your point of view. It's simply a consideration of the issue in an open and informal debate. Best regards.

My god he predicted our current situation !! This is brilliantly done even compared to today's standards . And I swear in the ending epilogue he just summarized year 2020(Mind blowing stuff). I cannot imagine what it must feel like watching this back in those times. Everything about them is so bhartiya I feel like I should learn hindi again and start wearing dhoti kurta and drink endless cup of teas and then feel good about it.
The attention to detail in this show is mind blowing. How they take off their shoes before entering the kitchen, how the men wearing dhotis hold their dhotis while waking, this is how it is in realty.. and how women of the household walks away hiding their face..
I always wait for Ajit Babu's dailogues.....😂😂 Shayad helpful rahe honge kaafi....Byomkesh Dada k liye......tumhe kya lagta h yeh fix rehta hain....i love the simplicity of this series

The best series till now, because no other show can compare with this content, and the explanations and logics are so well framed and categorized. I really wanna go to that part of time..I habe started watching all episodes from on dated 09-12-2018, really really appreciated the work done by all the actors..
