Not only France is engaged in the enslavement and robbery of African countries, but many European countries. The President of Uganda said an interesting thing: "We grow coffee and make $800 million a year from it. Germany does NOT grow coffee - but it makes $6.8 billion a year".

    1) Russia does not impose "universal" (read exclusively American and Western European) "values" on other countries.
    2) Russia does not need the resources of Niger.
    3) unlike France, which is not able to feed its inhabitants, Russia has enough food for its own people and for others
    4) Russia has never been a colonial empire. Even more than that, she helped (but already under the USSR) in the struggle for independence from the countries of Europe. In addition, thanks to Soviet Russia, some countries that have become socialist have a chance for development and prosperity.

China never ever forced any country in Africa to borrow, these are outright lies.
Unlike China, The British & French colonized africa, and subjugated African natives. China actually engages in
regular commerce with Africa, yeah maybe the loans might have a higher interest rate,
but its nothing compared colonizing, subjugating, murdering & inflicting physical harm on Africans.
China & Russia has been our friend for almost 80years now, helped train the rebels that fought against colonizers, they provided Foreign Investment, they build roads, bridges, hospitals, provide military training.

The West is failing to win the support of Africans, despite making the most effort possible to be "anti-racist". Why is this? Our leaders lack the practical, pragmatic view of geopolitics that is necessary to win support in Africa. They feel lectured to and issues like LGBT politics are not seen the same way in Africa as they are in the West, we fail to learn these lessons. But above all I hope there is no war as a result of this coup. A stable Niger, even aligned with Russia, is better for the people of Niger and the region than an attempt to re-install the democratically elected ruler by force or a wider conflict that draws in other countries in the region.

@@Mr.Patrick_Hung um hello? Have you read anything about Sagallo and Nikolai Ivanovitch Achinov? Or Peter the Great attempting to annex Madagascar? Or Joseph Stalin having a fleeting interest in claiming the former Italian colony of Tripolitania in modern-day Libya?
Although Russia failed to colonize Africa, they built a colonial empire larger and more permanent than any European country's foray into Africa. The Russians were preoccupied with colonizing and conquering Central Asia and Siberia.
Sure, the USSR helped in some liberation movements, and so has "the West". Do you seriously think what Putin is doing in Ukraine is liberation? Quite the opposite. Russia simply wants to and is exerting its own influence over Africa. If Africa doesn't want "the West" to interfere with it, then it should use the same logic with Russia, China, etc. Then again, I'd be okay with a balance between "Western" and "Eastern" power worldwide (maybe because I love both America and Russia since I'm Slavic-American), as long as the Russian leader is not like Putin. Hope things are doing well enough for you over there, considering you are in/from China (an oppressive government that is an ally of Russia).

    • @adaptivelearner6162

Many is not all. If the countries, like France, traded with the countries that could build an economy in Africa to enhance the lives of the citizens. Instead of just buying raw materials and selling it, at a higher value then countries with the capacity to build economies could create jobs that would create wealth. This could then start a chain reaction across Africa as wealth spreads to local populuses. Though, It WILL happen anyway.

The west keeps arming rebels and flying in terrorist from the middle east of course the country will malfunction. There's over 20 US military bases in Africa and some how they have more terrorist groups now than before. France was kicked out of Mali because they got caught airdropping weapons for terrorist groups and I'm sure US is doing the same. They keep these countries in a constant state of conflict while they steal the resources the same practice US is using to steal Syrian oil.

    • @DieFlabbergast

They lack the resources because their population has grown out of all proportion, due to modern medical science and pharmaceuticals, all of it produced in the West. Africa has almost no industry to speak of, and its agriculture is underdeveloped. Without international aid (mostly from the West) there would be widespread famine and mortality from disease. What do you expect with corrupt governments run on strictly tribal lines, just like in the Middle East? Education levels are nowhere near high enough. There will be civil wars and black-on-black empire-building (as in the past) as soon as Western countries wash their hands of Africa, which MAT happen.
