I'm very glad I joined! Love your location videos, so interesting to see the comparison from Elvis's time to now. Also love when there are things still existing from then! An awesome piece of the puzzle!
Thank you guys for travelling around, spending your time and gas to show us these great places where Elvis has been that people don't have a clue about.
Hi Spa Guy and Trey, I've always thought that this particular location could never change through the years reason being that its so isolated why would it? Regrettably time moves on and circumstances dictate change. Your photo matching skills are absolutely spot on its great to see this Elvis history but I'm a little disappointed that the area has changed so much. Great work and a fantastic report. Take Care .
Thank you so much. I've speculated for decades where that scene was filmed. I used to think maybe Grand Isle which is completely opposite in direction. Glad to finally know
Thank you for sharing this with us. That was one of my favorite. Movies. I love it when you go out on locations and show us all the details that you can find. you guys are the greatest. You guys.works so hard for us. God bless both of you sending blessings prayers love and hugs to you and your families.
Such an awesome addition to the King Creole collection. As I’ve said heading to New Orleans soon and hope I can find my way here. Thank you Billy and Trey!!
Oh man this was awesome. I went to this location a couple years ago, but didn’t hang around too long as I got kind of sketched out by the area. Glad to see that green building is still standing and thanks for showing us the other side of the fence and the historical aerials. Amazing stuff!
Just watched this video on King Creole. One of my all time favorites. Greatful you and Trey found this location. Because where I thought it was I was way off. Love all your videos and your time and effort you put into them. Keep up the good work guys.
These locations are amazing. I would love to visit them. "King Creole" was first started in January, 1958? Boy, I was in my Mom's womb, bless her soul, at the time! I'd like to feel I've got a connection to New Orleans some how by all this!
Thank you Billy and Trey, my number one channel for Elvis. Trying to get to Graceland for the first time this year. Been a subscriber for years and this channel has been amazing to watch, please keep up the content Spa Guy.
Thank you Spa Guy and Trey! We are traveling and just now ten hours later we finally are able to see this new video , as always your research and findings live us Elvis,Spa Guy and Trey fans astonished! We enjoyed the video. Thank You Arrivederci!
I love the map stuff! I used to work as a land planner and I always got into looking at historical maps and aerials for the areas we were designing for.
Yes sir; the roads in NOLA are not good; that’s an understatement 🤣. That’s East New Orleans, right? Very flood prone. I even saw blue roof tarps; wonder if those are from Katrina times. You two guys are THE BEST. We love you; thank you!!
Really loving these King Creole location videos Billy! As you know I love all your content but this is my favorite Elvis movie so I like these videos even more. As always thank you and Trey both for what you do.
MaN - just what I was needing after a long night's work! Great find. I agree - this is one of his last really good acting movies. After the army - he kinda just played along. There's a few other really decent acting jobs post-Army, but not many. Don't get me wrong - I like most of his movies, but the real acting's in the early ones. Really enjoyed this one. Thanx guys. Until next time, take care!
They just have an eye for what it will look like on film I guess.. There are trained people who find these spots but you are right kind of random where it is..
Before Hurricane Katrina, I lliterally lived 2 miles to the east of this site in New Orleans East between Read Blvd.and Bullard Ave.. and would travel past there almost every day. The houses on Lake Pontchartrain were actually called camps, and they were all destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. That building that you keep pointing and referring to on Hayne Blvd. was Edgelake Bar & Grill that was owned by a good friend of my mom. The other side of Danube Street where the empty lot sits was Gee & Lil's seafood restaurant. And the man-made island that you refer to across from the boat pier was the dock for the Star Casino in the 1990s which later became Bally's Casino which was a floating riverboat casino that actually would have to leave the dock and go out in Lake Pontchartrain because the only legally land-based casino to be able to operate at that time in Louisiana was Harrah's Casino in downtown New Orleans. There were fishing camps all the way up and down the shore of Lake Paontchatrain along Hayne Blvd. All of that concrete ramps, overpass and flood gates were all built in the 1990s to accomodate access for the Star Casino. in 1958, we didn't even have a levee out there, and Hayne Blvd was a 2-lane road. The levee system out there wasn't added until the 1960s.
This was a great movie of Elvis Presley. Probably one of the movies Priscilla saw when she was a teenager. She mentioned watching movies of Elvis before he came to Germany. This place kind a makes me depressed, all that trash and the other side looks like a postcard with the palm trees. People and pullition... I always pick up my trash , the world could be so much more beautiful if everybody did that. But how many movies Elvis shot before he went into the military? Were it indeed 4 movies? Thanks Spa Guy and Trey❤
Hey spa guy and Trey i askt my self how is the dojo are you the owner and maybe if you want to you can make a vlog abortus it greatings bernie from the netherlands big elvis fan.
I believe that house was a victim of Hurricane Betsy in 1965. Speaking of the airport, there's a small plane flying overhead in the movie. Wonder if the occupants of that plane know they were in an Elvis movie.
@SpaGuy I watched a documentary about elvis at the movies back in 87. Sammy Davis Jnr was one of the celebs featured and Richard Thorpe, Leiber and Stoller, among others, were also featured. Not sure which guest stated it but I was shocked by this statement when I heard it. It may have been Thorpe who stated that the Studios did not want Elvis in Dean type roles. Perhaps it was because they didn't want the youth of the time to rebel.
Another great bit of Elvis history and on Elvis's King Creole movie from the super sleuth go to guys !! Thank you Mr. Trey and Mr. Spa Guy. Great stuff. Sad that that area is so trashed. Not a good area to be in. Be safe and safe travels and adventures 🙏.
Thank you for all of the work you are doing to keep Elvis alive in memories.
You two gentlemen are awesome.
My thankfulness for your work is unmeasurable.
Thanks a lot Spa Guy. This is one of my favorite movies. I look forward to all your videos. ❤❤ God bless you

I'm a New Orleanian, so I knew all the Quarter locations but I had no idea where the showdown happened. Great work!!!
King Creole was the best film Elvis ever did. Proud it was shot in New Orleans

It makes you wonder how they find these sites to be used in the movies. It seems to be such a random place. Thank you for all the hard work you do!

That's some great bass guitar in the intro music 😀
That's my thing!!
If you match up the tracks between the movie clip and now, you'll get an accurate crossing.
HI BILL FROM BILL in tacoma washington......
Hey spa guy and Trey i askt my self how is the dojo are you the owner and maybe if you want to you can make a vlog abortus it greatings bernie from the netherlands big elvis fan.
Sorry not abortus i mean about it
It is still tied up in court so I cannot comment at this point..

Interesting.. I remember that plane..
Y’all have been on the road together wayski too long.
Sorry Spy guy,,,I mean NICK ADAMS.....
Deferred not furlough.
I heard one director or stoller state that Elvis will not be cast in James Dean roles after this movie.
I doubt that but possible.. I thought Elvis did a Great Job in this movie..
