I’ve been looking for something like this for weeks! I’m so thankful you thought to post this cable on your channel so long ago❤ I love that you focus on one stitch instead of putting it in a pattern.
That half DC in the middle is inspired. Can't wait to try it. When working the bpdc on the return row I find it's easier to have that side facing and work from left to right (like we do with your knurl stitch).
Thank you for this! I can not good englisch, im from Germany.I search for this and dont found video in german, but i found it by you. I UNDERSTAND NOW, what i dont understand in my language written instructions XD I lern this by watch,
This flows so much nicer than any other cable I've attempted. I've crocheted for decades and a smidgen of knitting but even though crochet uses more yarn it's so much more beautiful. Anyway I do many CRAFTS and am an Artist so seeing my project appearing a hot mess I wouldn't use the cable stitch until I fell upon this video. I live in Utah but I expect Amazon or Barnes & Noble will have any books you've published? Post a link if they are special order. I only learned recently to read patterns. I'd always examined the original piece then went home to make it. My Grandmother taught me. Like playing piano by ear which I did from a young age but no longer own a piano. That unfortunately makes it virtually impossible to be taught piano properly. I still loved it. You are fabulous at teaching. Thank you. I'm grateful for your time spent.
Thank you for your kind words Lynda. If you liked this cable, I would like to recommend my latest book to you, Cable Crochet Made Easy. Each design has a complete video tutorial, so you can continue to learn how to read pattern with the demonstration. Hi I love your voice it's important!! when listening to instructions. It's a lovely pattern I am home today and I gave it a try It's so lovely so thank you
Thank You! Your tutorials are so easy to follow along with and I love the transition that you created it makes the pattern very graceful. Would you please create a tutorial for the pattern of the sample pice you show at the beginning and end of this tutorial? I absolutely love the look of it! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world and helping people like me who are not creative or talented to have the opportunity to make beautiful things. with your
Hi Maile! I'll see what I can do in the future. I do however have many crochet designs in my books that are similar. My book "Cable Crochet Made Easy" has 18 cabled designs and the complete video tutorials. Here's a link in case you may be interested in checking it out: www.amazon.com/Cable-Crochet-Made-Easy-tutorials-ebook/dp/B077GZ8J3Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1543079337&sr=1-1&keywords=cables+made+easy
Funny, I love your work and like I said once before my heritage is got Irish and European I would love to know where I can buy your books and where are you located?
Thanks for the tutorial, I have been looking for something like this for a project I want to work on. Did you say you will be having the written pattern. I like working for the written pattern so I don't get lost.
I do have a design that uses this cable on the TH-cam channel called "Catrina Cabled Wrap". It is a 3 video series. The free pattern is available here: www.cascadeyarns.com/patternsFree/C290_EWCatrinaCabledWrap.pdf Blessings, Bonnie Barker BonnieBayCrochet.com
On the large cable, when you skip the first 3 double crochet, you take your hook behind go through the hole. Where do you put the part when you make your treble crochet in the back.
After crocheting the first 3 fptr, I work behind those 3 post sts & hdc, into the large space (hole), and then work a fptr in each of the 3 skipped post sts, starting with the one on the right and work towards the left. I hope this makes sense!
I would like to make an Afghan approximately a throw size 45x 60 using red heart super saver yarn & this stitch, can you tell me what size hook, how many chains to start with & how much of red heart yarn I need.any help is much appreciated on this.thank you
I actually have a pattern, complete with an unlisted (i.e. not on my public channel) tutorial too. It can be purchased as a single pattern or part of the book Cable Crochet Made Easy. I'll put both links below... www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/moher-cabled-throw-crochet-pattern-by-bonnie-barker Book: www.amazon.com/Cable-Crochet-Made-Easy-tutorials-ebook/dp/B077GZ8J3Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1543079337&sr=1-1&keywords=cables+made+easy
Beautiful! I'm not great at doing the back post dc; but all thanks to you, it's easy!! Thank you so much I'm glad I subscribed to your channel! I'm really looking forward to your next tutorial!!🌹
You can work this stitch a number of ways Lividem. The stitch video will help you to understand how stitches are formed, but always refer to the written pattern as primary.
Dear Jodie, I have many books available. Here's a list and links to Amazon: bonniebaycrochet.squarespace.com Warmly, Bonnie Barker BonnieBayCrochet.com
That really is a huge design question, and depends upon many factors you want to incorporate into your afghan. The large wheat stitch is a factor of 17 as shown in this video.
Bonnie , hope you are well! Thank u for your tutorial! I would love to make a Christmas tree skirt and was wondering if you could please give me some guidance! Thanks again! ❤️🙏
I have one that is available as a single pattern or as part of a complete book. The book includes video tutorials for all 18 projects. Here's the Ravelry link for this afghan: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/moher-cabled-throw
You sure do Have a talent :) I'm gong on vacation tomorrow for a week so I will start on your blanket when I get back. I have Premier Yarn in Everyday yarn ok to use? I was wondering is 6 ply to heavy a yarn? I don't care for yarn that leave open holes in cables. I will let you know when I am back and ready to start. I'm very experienced at crocheting 40 + year's . I took 6 year's off doing jewelry so a bit rusty lol, I just finish a huge mandala pillow :). Now wash cloths in basket weave easier for car trip lol. I have chronic fibromyalgia. Woopee lol.
Have you tried stopping by your local yarn store to talk with an instructor? That is probably the best - to get one on one instruction. I can try to help if you can be specific and possibly send a photo of the problem. Having the basic stitches down first is also helpful. I just posted some basic front post and back post stitches on this channel earlier this week that also may be helpful. Blessings, Bonnie Barker BonnieBayCrochet.com
This lady's explaining is wonderful as well as the quality of her voice and video
Your voice is so soothing, and relaxing Bonnie, that was a compliment. Thanks sue

Is this the same stitch that is used for the Fergus Shrug in your book? What is said in the video am the pattern in the book seem different. 🤔

So how many set of 3's would we need to do the Large Wheat Stitch?
Still trying to get the hang of that back post in the skipped stitches. I'm sure it's easy once you figure it out.....Harriet
Yes Harriet, these stitches are pretty good at hiding.
How many do you chain if you want multiple cables on a blanket?
That's a great question but I honestly don't have an easy answer. It really depends on how you wish to space these stitches.
OK it's the pink Large Wheat Stitch crochet cable. I am using 4 ply worsted wt. Yarn. J crochet hooks. Thanks sue.
Bonnie please let me know when. Book comes I. Should like copy
