A wounded sergeant reports to King Duncan of Scotland that his generals Banquo and Macbeth, the Thane of Glamis, have just defeated the allied forces of Norway and Ireland, who were led by the traitorous Macdonwald and the Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth, the King's kinsman, is praised for his bravery and fighting prowess.
The dramatic importance of the scene lies in the exaltation of Macbeth. Though Macbeth is yet to appear on the stage, he has already become the focus of the attention of the audience. The tributes paid by the captain, Rosse, and Duncan himself magnify the qualities of Macbeth and make the audience immensely curious to meet this mighty warrior.
The exaltation of Macbeth serves another important dramatic purpose: the higher the hero is exalted, the more impressive would his fall seem in the course of the play.
Important character of Macbeth revealed in the Scene
Macbeth possesses valour and generalship. He is the life and soul of Duncan’s army, which is why he so ably leads to victory Duncan’s army against the rebels. The first engagement of the battle is represented as having been gained by his personal prowess and leadership qualities.
He does not lose heart even when the army of the rebel is reinforced “ with terrible numbers” by the King of Norway, assisted by the most disloyal traitor, the Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth beats them as if he is “Bellona’s bridegroom” and becomes the hero of the hour. Duncan’s spontaneous reaction to the reports of his bravery- “ o valiant cousin! is a restrained but emotional outburst of his admiration for Macbeth’s valour, for which the world fail him. Macbeth’s courage never entirely deserts him till his end.

Describe the manner in which macbeth took his revenge on the traitor...
War is a place of total destruction on earth where a massacre of innocent lives take place due to enmity between high officials. A rebel must be suppressed in order to make a peaceful reign of king.
As informed by a Sergeant about the latest happenings of the war when he left which is the bravery of Macbeth against the rebel Macdonawald.
The sergeant conveys that the war is at the position where the two swimmers in competition are equally distressed which tells the the war is in state where both the armies are t equal level.
The rebel Macdonawald is like a merciless fighter whose villarines seem to multiply with every move he makes in the we like an ever increasing evils. His armies consists of both Kern's and gallowglasses coming from western frontier of Northern isles. The fate seems to be like a who're on rebel side.
Macbeth, the brave seems to challenge the fate along with his barnishd steel reeking blood of soldiers to making way to the rebel whole he neither greeted nor bid him farewell., cut him from his navel to his chapel and fixed his head upon the castle walls.
Even before rejoicing over their suppression of revolt another freshly army seems to come forth of Norwegian king which made King Duncan a little concerning for his commanders Bang-up and Macbeth but to his astonishment.
Bang-up and Macbeth along with their army fought the second war like overcharged cannons, doubly redouble force. The sergeant was in state of not knowing whether the commanders and army wanted to win the second battle or wanted to bathe in blood by their bravery and fearless fight at broil.
As informed by Ross, about the further battle, where the Scottish flag was up in the air which made the people fear for their lands. The king of Norway was accompanied by traitor Thane of Candor who was Like a Bellona's bridegroom greeted by Macbeth face to face clashing together and suppressed ND won the second revolt as victory felt upon us.

When macdonwald(thane of cawdor) was already killed by Macbeth ,Why duncan pronounces death for him in the last of scene 2,
Macdonwald is not the thane of cowdor , he is just a king of another land seeking to expand his territory, thane of cowdor is someone else who joined the hands with king of norway to defeat duncan. As Norway has lost against Scotland, they have captured Thane of cowdor and are going to execute him
