For reference, the old Hoverspeed Mountbatten class hovercraft that used to ply the English Channel crying like 250 passengers and 30 carshad a top speed of 83 knots and could cruise fully loaded at 60 knots. I rode one of the Jetfoils from Ostend to Folkestone back in 1986. Sweet machine.

Well, no crash - it only impacted on a submerged object and made a emergency stop. The passengers didn't followed the instructions to maintain seatbelts on, so they were at fault on the resulting injuries. Also many of the luggage was just spread around and started to fly.
