A great and informative review with lots of interesting points considered. Thanks!
@@nathanksimpson thank you
Hey Bobby! Any plans to review the new Voigtlander 90mm F2 that was just announced. Sounds like a fun one :-)
@@gregpantelides1355 yes plan to when I get back to Singapore
@ thank you!
I love the sound quality of sennheiser mics in general but a bit bummed it’s not 32-bit as a solo film-maker. You never know when a client might do something unexpected or start playing piano lol. But a great product from sennheiser nonetheless
@@classicboy97 yeah I understand. Hopefully the client doesn’t start playing the piano out of the blue hahaha
Assuming you aren't going from whisper to the frontline of a warzone, if you keep -18 or -20 as a reference level for average interviews, you'll never clip the mic. Even when the talent shouts at the gaffer for turning the bright light on. I get the perks and the ease of mind of 32 bit. But people forget how much dynamic range 24 bit actually is (me included with all the 32 bit hype)
You don’t need 32bit audio just for people talking. For recording music yes!
@@Old-School-Liberal Do you really need it for music recording? The dynamic range of 24 bit is large enough to never clip any instrument, and I assume that you'll line check before pressing that record button. Especially when you are recording with a compressor in.
I'd go as far and even believe that the only real reason for 32 bit would be on location recording when you won't be able to dial in the gain properly due to the situation, like in war zones or people getting angry and screaming.
But even then, many sound recordist have been doing fine in war zones with lowering gain (before safety tracks were a thing) with hardware limiters on the input.
How does this compare to the Rode Wireless Pro kit? I know it's more expensive but you also get more, 2 lav mics to mic yourself up.
@@gerthilbrands I prefer this to the Rode for size, versatility and the locking 3.5mm connector. Also the charging bar acts like a handheld or even desktop mic for podcast
@@btonelli the pro has the screw in connector for the 3,5mm. For handheld, you can get a 30 dollar "mic" that you can plug a mic in, that actually looks like a mic, indeed a bit more money but to me, quite the same idea
I think he only has the Wireless Go 2 he doesn’t know that the pro’s have a locking connector
for my taste the sound of the sennheiser profile wireless outdoors is better, less ambient noise and less shrill
@@VideomakerMax yes agree the noise is less.
How about an audio post processing video? Your cleaned up audio sounds very nice. I searched to see if you did a walk through of it, and didn't find any videos for it on your page.
@@TravelWithAC I’ll do this in the coming weeks 👍
@ much appreciated brother.
You don’t need 32bit audio just for speech
Agree. 24bit is enough
Rode has a locking connector…
The pro yes. The go no
@@btonelli and it's plastic...
