Great video as always Mike, the only two things I would add are: 1 - Wearing a respirator with correct cartridge, especially when mixing and applying. 2 - I know that you mentioned downstreaming and X-jet, I'm a big fan of X-jetting my sodium hydroxide mix because it's a lot quicker IMO and there's something psychological for me about putting a reactive chemical into a pressurized container, that's probably just me. A bonus freebie, and maybe you mentioned it, to anyone unfamiliar with the two chemicals i.e. new guys and gals that sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide don't play well in the sandbox together so definitely make sure you keep them in their own dedicated container, especially if you are using a pump up sprayer to apply. Just my free advice, and you get what you pay for, especially off the internet!

@@TheFreshRinse I work in a chemical plant and deal with large amounts of this chemical on the daily. The SOP created to keep us safe while working with this chemical and mixing it is to add it to water. This is based off SOP’s written by chemical engineers. An exothermic reaction occurs when the 2 components are mixed and it is recommended to add the chemical to water slowly so the water can help control the reaction and the heat it gives off.
Yeah, the exothermic reaction under the right conditions will happen smothered by the water and will cause it to burp back up on you. Bad news. Adding Chems to the water allows the reaction to happen on the top of the water, no burping…
And In that sprayer with the small exit, could have concentrated the liquid at your face! But since this was posted, I assumed you survived!! Just glad this did not end up being a PSA video.
