Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner!
I just listened to at least 15 covers of this beautiful song, and this is the only one that corrected that horrible misplaced accent on the word “washes,” or as everyone else pronounces it, “wa-SHAYS.”
And, oh yeah, everything about version is amazing-arrangement, textures, vocals, chord progressions...nice work.

Expanding on my earlier comment...I feel that this song offers the opportunity for a huge variety of inventive interpretations, like removing the dance beat and bringing out the deep melancholy of the lyrics. I especially love the way your band pauses poignantly on the words “what you had and what you lost.” It was very disappointing to find that almost every version on TH-cam just basically copies the original.
