I lived in Hanoi for 2 years and I think your video really spoke the truth. I just subscribed.... keep speaking the truth with all the enthusiasm that you have.
Hi KT I am currently living in Bangkok Thailand, but I have been watching a few of your videos and decided to apply for a visa (which was approved) and buy a plane ticket to check out Ho Chi Minh City. I am glad that you explained many things that EXPRESSES that I need to know about Saigon and to have LOW or NO expectations when I visit Vietnam. I am from New York, and I accustomed to a city lifestyle! I have a BA in Banking Law and Finance and an MBA in Consumer Advocacy Law. I truly don't know if the Asian culture or mentality (of Vietnamese, Thais or Filipinos) is something I can deal with for longer than 1 year! I am open to visiting Vietnam and perhaps staying there for 3 months to get a closer look at the UNIQUE culture of Vietnam. If I meet some decent people in Vietnam and establish some good relationships there, maybe I will stay longer! But I will not come there with any expectations.
@@thestoryofkt sorry I did not see the notification of your reply. Someone just 👍 and this time i saw it. I am from Boston Massachusetts. Hope all is well and you still have a great time in Vietnam.
@@thestoryofkt the same, neighborhoods, transportation, prices etc. (when) I get there though, I want to look into exports, so hopefully shipping is a no brainer from HCMC.
Damn I miss you guys. You family to me brotha, you know that. I pray you and mom dukes doing better. I miss your pops everyday man. He truly was 1 person who believed in me. I'll always be grateful to your family 🙏🏾. Thanks for stopping by brother. Don't be a stranger, we only getting older
I've been considering floating around Vietnam for a few years now, I'll finally take the leap of faith next year. I'll likely end up in Da Nang. Beaches, an international airport, thriving expat community, and proximity to Hoi An for day trips tick off all of my boxes! Not to mention the affordable prices lol. Way more than i could want for here in the states
That was a lot of great info packed into a short video. As a viet kieu, i found a lot of your insights useful. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Best weather in Ho Chi Minh is around Christmas, New Year and Vietnamese Lunar New Year which is late January early February. There are a lot of festivals around these Holidays so best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City. Beautiful sunshine almost every day, day time temp around 80-90 F and night time around Christmas New Year could fall to 60F.
KT , thanks for breaking this down in real time, not like some of the other youtubers out there making Vietnam to be all good without any downside. For me i think the weather will be the the biggest challenge since i don't like extreme temperature changes.your insights is very accurate as far as someone leaving the West and going to another country like Vietnam, one should not expect the same level of comfort that they are use to in the West. Keep up the good work KT, i appreciate you.
Love the comment. I completely agree. Vietnam will change your life. Thích bình luận này. Tôi hoàn toàn đồng ý. Việt Nam sẽ thay đổi cuộc sống của bạn.
How are people of color treated in Vietnam from your experience? I look latino and didnt like how I was treated in Thailand so im leery of traveling to Vietnam but always wanted to at least check it out. Thailand was a super weird vibe so im worried its more of the same. I ventured into different areas in Bangkok and just didnt vibe with the city.
I've lived in the north for the last 3 years with no issues of discrimination and you would assume that in the North it would be an issue, but none at all. The south is way better with this sort of issue. Generally, here in Vietnam you won't have any issues with this stuff. People will keep to themselves if they do vibe with you. You will feel free here. That's what I honestly love the most about Vietnam. They are more interested in you because you look different. They are used to seeing white people, but black and brown people they are interested in knowing more about. I don't like Thailand much tbh. I feel what your saying.
@@thestoryofkt That eases my mind a bit about it haha. Man Thailand was a trip and kinda soured my impression of Asia given it was the first Asian country i've been to. I'll strongly consider Vietnam for sure
KT, thank you so much for your time and hard work making this video. It was very well done, very informative, and your speech was very clear and easy to listen to. Robert
Keep cooking chef. Yeah that's what I'm seeing as well. All a money grab, no real care for the kids future. It's sad for the people. Something needs to change fast.
@thestoryofkt seems like we are their teachers during the day, then they go to a center at night and wait and want. I make 57ml in HCMC... but for real, D1/D3 border by the pink church...11 to 13.5 ml. Mostly, we are just there, keepers. No racism meant my bro, but we are all dressed in a white or black suit to perform like a tiny little monkey jumping through the insanity of all the rules and regs. Just get used to the noise and pollution, BUT the ladies...OMG...batting 1000 my bro )

Gotta say, teaching here is 50/50$ shady. Tax evasion, and don't get sick unless you've got $$$ in the bank. Get used to the pollution and noise
